This Just In.......
Preseason football officially sucks! I absolutely can't stand preseason football. It's difficult to even call it football. I wish they'd do away with it all together!! Sorry, I got a bit carried away. O.K........I'm better now. Now, I realize that teams say they need preseason football to evaluate talent. I say that they should evaluate players in training camp. There's no way that fans should be subjected to the debacle they witnessed last night at Lucas Oil Stadium. Even when we, as fans, know it's second and third stringers playing, it's still a difficult pill to swallow. It's like watching the replacement players of the late 80's.....that was a lot of fun. The Colts should pay the fans if that's what we're going to see. And, there's also no way that great players, such as Saturday, should be injured in a completely meaningless, stupid preseason game. So, again, I say......do away with these stupid games completely. When teams suit up for the first time each year, let the games count and let the chips fall where they may. And, I think it's obvious, at this point, that Lorenzen and Gray officially suck too. If the Colts, God forbid, were to be without Manning, for let's say....6 games, I seriously doubt we'd win one game with either of those guys at the helm. Sorgi is looking better all the time. At least I feel he would be able to lead the Colts to two or three wins out of the six games. And, for anyone who watched the Bucs and Texans last night, Chris Simms looked awful too.....inaccurate, holding onto the ball too long, getting sacked as usual. So, I truly don't think he'd be any upgrade. Will the real Indianapolis Colts please take the field!??......please!

Fyi, pre-season games helps veteran players as well. Helps get their timing and rhythm down in a “game setting.” So hate the pre-season all you want, but it is a helpful tool for everyone on the Colts Roster.
As for your comment about Manning missing six games, how about having a little more faith in the rest of the damn team will you? I mean, we’re talking about the Indianapolis Colts. A team full of elite players from top to bottom, and you don’t think they could win just one game without Peyton? That’s a pretty ridiculous thing to say.
We Colts fans did not pay $720 million dollars in public funds to build a brand new stadium that will get opened on Sunday Night Football by Jim Friggin Sorgi.
Sorgi
You say that Sorgi is looking better all the time, I find that funny because he is looking better only because he knocked his knee coming off the bus. So the only way for him to look better is to not do anything.
pre-season
Sorry King, but get the timing down in training camp. It’s my opinion. And, as far as faith goes, I have complete faith in the rest of the starters, just not Gray or Lorenzen. I think Sorgi could lead them to two or three wins,….as I mentioned…..in a pinch.
Yeah well the day you start playing on an NFL team is the day I’ll take your opinion about the pres-season seriously. You have no clue what it’s like to go out there and just chuck balls to wide open receivers all day long, knowing that you won’t get creamed any second by some psycho 250+ lb defensive lineman out for blood. If the pre-season was such a horrible thing, you’d think the people who actually have to participate in it would be complaining a bit more instead of fans like you. If you don’t want to watch it, then don’t. No one is forcing you to.
The only reason I’m riding you so hard for this post is because of the selfish attitude it’s giving off. Having your opinion is one thing, expressing that opinion in the way you did just looks bad.

Dear King
Who made you king anyway??? I couldn’t care less whether you take my opinion seriously or not. Got it? And, I’ll express my opinion however I see fit. Obviously, I’m not the only person who feels this way. If the price we pay for evaluating talent in games that don’t count, is losing people like Saturday, I’m going to express my dismay. That’s what this forum is for. Some people may agree with me, some people may not. Who really cares anyway. As I said before, it’s just an opinion. Get over it.
I’m a self appointed king for your information. And I find it amusing that anytime I get an argument with someone, they need to bring my username into the fold. Like you’re super clever because you used my name against me. GFY, good for you.
Listen, I’m not going to sit here and have a bitch slap contest with you. If you post something then you should expect feedback whether good or bad. If you can’t take criticism, then maybe it’s you who should “get over it.” It’s not like you said something completely revolutionary or original. We all know that the pre-season sucks, and that injuries to the starting players is going to hurt the team. But who’s to say they don’t get injured in practice? You can’t predict injuries, because predicting the future is impossible. Personally, I’d sacrifice a man or two for the better of the team in the long run, but apparently you don’t seem to care much about that.
The whole, “who really cares anyway” comment was kind of funny. Obviously you cared enough to reply to my criticism of you, but it’s ok if you do it right? =P

Whilst I don’t agree with Ayrshire’s point of view, I think pre-season is an unfortunately painful necessity, he does have a right to express his points here on a fans forum. I think you’re language is totally out of order and over the top King, Ayrshire clearly doesn’t mean to sound off against the rest of the colts starters, but at the end of the day, QB is the most important position on the field and Gray and J-load have clearly demonstrated they just can’t get the job done, period. I agreee, with them at the helm, colts win at most one from six. Moot point though, Big P is back and ready to rock the lube!

Yeah, he has a right to express his points, and so do I.
Concerning my language, I have no idea what you are talking about. I didn’t call him names or berate him in any way.

Not that my opinion matters,
But I don’t see anything wrong with a good rant. It HAS been a frustrating pre-season. I also understand that it’s an unfortunate necessity for the players.
I think alot of my diappointment is my own fault. I am going through football withdrawl immediately after the Superbowl, and when the preseason begins, I get all excited – knowing I won’t see anything worth watching. Although at least in the past, we’d get to see Peyton a little bit.
So, here’s to a democracy where everyone (even the ney-sayers) can express themselves…(instert national anthem here).

I amend
Football withdrawl is immediately after the end of the Colts’ season…which this year, will be the Superbowl…

Well, your highness
You clearly have issues. You’re making that obvious to everyone who is reading this. You started out with a hostile reply to my tongue in cheek post regarding the preseason, as if you’re the blogger police, describing me with terms like ‘fya’, ‘no clue’, ‘ridiculous’, and ‘selfish attitude.’ What’s your problem? Did you mother ground you this week? And, since you don’t seem to be able to grasp the simplest of ideas, I’m through responding to you. I feel like I’m going back and forth with an 7-year old. And regarding your username, it’s obvious you’re the self-appointed king, because nobody with a thimble full of brains would appoint you king. So, slow learner, ….I’ll leave it at that.
define berate
Please give me your definition of the above. I believe your exact quote King was “the day you start playing football for an NFL team is the day I take your opinion seriously.” If that’s your attitude then there’s no point in you entering these discussions with mere fans of the game, seriously, I don’t know anyone who blogs here personally but I’d be surprised if there were more than a couple of individuals with any hope of playing football at such an elite level. Blogging exists to give normal working people a chance to express their opinions and hear other points of view / learn from other people, it does not exist so you can write the high and mighty crap you have been. Go and cool off before you make a bigger ass of yourself KingDick

Well,
I don’t know about you, but during last years playoff game against San Diego, I was so pissed, I wanted to suit up on the defense….LOL!

I’m pretty sure I didn’t call him an idiot, or stupid, or say his opinion was stupid or any of the like. What I did say however, in a round-about way was, he doesn’t know what he is talking about. If you consider that berating someone, then you need to educate yourself on the definition of the word and how it’s used.

You’re right, but what’s your point?

He isn’t a blogger, so this argument is moot.

For someone so concerned with how I talk to people, perhaps you should practice what you preach? Calling me names (yet another tidbit of originality) isn’t going to help you win the argument. Normally I’d be all for replying with a few juicy insults myself. But out of respect to Brad (BBS) and Anothony (MasterRWayne) and a slew of other people I’ve known here for years, I’ll end this now and be viewed as the bigger man for my self-restraint. But hey, if thinking you won gets you up in the morning, go for it dude.

Thanks scottishcoltsfan
It’s nice to know hear comments from the intelligent colt fans. As you can clearly see from the previous exchange with the slow one, you’re really never going to get your point across to someone like that. It’s like discussing politics and national security strategies with Otis, the drunk on Andy Griffith. In his first reply to my post, he says that what I said is a ridiculous thing to say. So, I’m expected not to respond? Come on. Of course I am. All he had to say was that he disagrees in a civil tone, but you know that rest. Thanks again.
Football season so close
Yet we still have to wait until Sunday Night! Not Thursday, Not Sunday afternoon, Sunday Night! It could have been worse. We could of been with the Monday Night Crew. Thank the lord.
