But, I have to admit, whoever did has one helluva sense of humor. I haven't commented much on the whole Vince young meltdown because, to be quite honest, Jimmy has done the best job discussing the issue. Jimmy's been getting all kinds of hits and interview requests because of this, and he's been blogging up a storm about it.

I find the opinions over there very interesting
Vince Young was a cult hero at UT in college, and his fans from there are the ones who are backing him up, regardless of what he does. This seems to make sense, as they have no real emotional attachment to the Titans, other than for Young. If Young isn’t playing, they couldn’t care less about the Titans.
Those that have now “seen the light” on Young are the actual Titan fans, who care about the entire team/organization. They see the best option for them to win now is not with Young at QB. They hope that he can be what Young did at UT, but, as some of us here noted a while ago, it doesn’t seem likely.
I fall into this same category with Brady Quinn. I feel he should be the starter in Cleveland, as I think Derek Anderson parlayed a good 8 game stretch into millions of dollars. Good for Anderson, but I think Quinn is the better quarterback. Honestly though, I think Chris over at DawgsByNature would have a better sense of the situation, as he cares the all of the Browns, not just the QB.
over the line
okay that’s over the line. Yes he’s a bad to mediocre NFL quarterback. We can rip on him for that over and over and over. Yes we can say he shouldn’t be a starting QB. That’s all fine. I happen to agree.
But it’s becoming more obvious the guy has some issues, either with depression, a manic depression, or some other issue where he could stand to get some psychological help. I suffer from depression. It took me a VERY long time to admit that enough that I sought help. If I hadn’t sought help a couple years ago, I probably would be dead now. Not hyperbole, just blunt truth. Luckily I got help, therapy and medication to deal with the problem before it got to that point.
It’s hard for anyone to admit depression, and it’s extra hard (because of our men = macho/boys don’t cry society) for men to admit to depression. Can you IMAGINE how hard it would be for someone who has grown up as a great revered athlete and who is in pretty much the highest testosterone fueled job you can have?
Joke about his bad QB play all you want. But when the jokes start coming that someone who needs help for what is becoming an obvious psychological issue, asking if he “needs a tampon”, well that’s over the fucking line. Sorry if I take making fun of mental health personally.
I’m sure you all don’t care about my depression and whatever but as someone who has dealt with it and suffered it (and still struggle with it), I’m not going to shy away from talking about how men need to be more willing to think about and to admit problems with mental health. Making fun of people for it just makes it even harder to admit the problem and talk about it.
Ouch
I just checked out Music City Miracles and they’re huffing and puffing quite a bit over there. I think the popular opinion over there is that they are glad Kerry Collins will be playing.
As a Titans fan, I'd like thank you guys for not piling on right now.
The past few days have been dildos (any Metalocalypse fans out there?) for we Titans fans. You folks could have made it more frustrating and had a good laugh doing it, but you haven’t.
Michael Roos doesn't eat pitas because NOTHING BREAKS THE POCKET ON HIS WATCH!!!
It seems like a house divided over there
It really seems like it is Titan fans vs. UT fans. It’s held my interest all afternoon.
I really think, from the Titan’s perspective, this is a good thing. Give him some time off to “grow up”, and the team shouldn’t suffer. The defense is going to carry the team throughout the year anyway.
And if you are apologizing to everyone else, you really should apologize to us too. It’s only fair.
I hadn't thought about the whole
Longhorn vs. Titans fans thing until you brought it up. Seems like a very good point.

I'm not familiar with everyone that posts on MCM
But it seems as though his defenders this week all are UT fans, who saw what he did in college. Folks like you and August, who had no connection to him in college, don’t have the rose-colored glasses that UT fans have.
Like I said above, I feel that way about Brady Quinn, so I know that feeling. It’s tough to see a guy you worshiped, and who gave you so many great memories, not continue being great at the next level. It takes some people longer than others.
I know that feeling too.
I’m also a UCLA fan (as well as Tennessee) and DeShawn Foster’s mediocrity in the league has been disappointing…
