Why Colts Fans hate the New England Patriots.

There have always been rivalries for the ages in the NFL:Redskins-Cowboys; Steelers-Browns; Packers-Bears. And right now, we have a new one-The Indianapolis Colts against the New England Patriots.

And we loathe them. Here are my reasons why. (And I'm going to get flamed on this).

#1.This wasn't supposed to happen. The New England Patriots were not supposed to be the dominant team in the NFL, the so-called "model franchise"-We were!

Bill Belichick wasn't supposed to be mentioned as a Genius, or be considered a Hall of Famer-He sucked as a Head Coach in Cleveland, and I think that whatever success he might have had in his assistant coaching and coordinating days was due to the fact that he worked under Bill Parcells. And whatever goodwill he may have built up in New England has been utterly squandered with this Spygate thing.

Tom Brady is another big reason-He was a nobody. The 199th pick of the Draft is not supposed to beat the #1 overall, is not supposed to be mentioned as a Hall of Famer, is not supposed to be called the Greatest of His Generation or the next Joe Montana, and is not supposed to be dating supermodels. He's supposed to be a journeyman quarterback at best, or cut at worst.
(It would be only slightly more tolerable if Drew Bledsoe were still the QB. I actually liked Drew, and as he was a #1 pick as well, there wouldn't be the unfair aspect).

#2.The media is biased toward the Patriots.

It's not even funny. Tom Brady still gets a Esquire cover piece about how great he is, and he lost! If that had happened to Peyton on the verge of the perfect season? He would have been called a choker, still can't win the big game. Brady slides out of it slick as can be. The Boston press-in fact, the entire New England area press-is so deep in the tank for Brady and the Patriots they will either drown in there, or won't ever sober up.

#3.The Patriots consistently beat us.

And this is the real root of it all-They win, so we must hate them. They beat us in 2003, and we were that close ot the Super Bowl. They absolutely fried us in 2005, and in 2007, we were the defending Super Bowl champions,  with a perfect record. And all anyone could talk about was the Patriots, with another perfect record, which was especially hard after we lost. (Of course, I wouldn't trade that perfect record for what happened in SB42, but still...).

Now, of course, rivalries like this are a good thing-They help sell tickets and merchandise, and encourage interest in the games. And I will admit one thing-It is really and truly fun to watch the two of them go at it, and I was looking forward to watching them go at it in the new Lucas Oil Stadium, which is impossible now. (And I really hope that Brady heals okay).

But in the end, it comes down to this-The Patriots suck, and nobody will convince me otherwise. Our coach is better(And a whole lot classier), our quarterback is better(And his little brother isn't bad either), and in fact, our whole team is better.

And that is why we hate the New England Patriots.

The statement alone

almost made me write him off as a concern troll and hide the diary. But the rest was well written and the profile is fleshed out if new.

In reality, the Patriots are only one up on us. The Colts record against the Patriots when it matters (and when I say “when it matters” I mean in the playoffs) is 1-2. ONE AND TWO. That my friends, isn’t too bad if you ask me, especially considering the circumstances. The Patriots are nothing but a formality to me anymore. The alure of the rivalry died to me in the 07 AFCCG when the Colts humiliated them and won a Super Bowl. Everything from here on out is icing on the cake.

Hate-Pats

Because they have a better than you attitude, most not all, they get to much press time because they are ESPN’s favorite team, yeah impartial my ass, they have Floria eating out of their hands and their water boy and most of all they have been known to stretch the rules and claim they didn’t understand them hmm pretty much wasted college years or wasted while being there.

There proably is 10 or 20 more reason but the hair on the back of my neck is wanting to stand out so before I do or say something real bad I’ll quit.

Patsy fan in disguise

Throws in a few token things we’d agree with.

Call it what it is.

They went through a lot of trouble for one big shot

and a couple possible veiled ones if it is a fake.

Re- Patsy fan in disguise

Who are you referring to, if that comment was directed toward me then you better to some fact finding and check how long I’ve been here and the subjects of my posts, better yet check with BBS on the e-mails I received during the Marvin-Philly deal from news reporters and posted.

Huh?

I know you are a Colts fan. I read all the posts and comments all the time, do you? Why would you think that was directed to you? I am not even the first person in this fanpost to question the author’s intent, if you read up the page. Why would you suspect I am taking a shot and accusation like that against another one of our regular posters like you? Here are some facts. I always have enjoyed reading your posts and think you are a good fan. Now I wonder if maybe a bit paranoid too, though.

I guess it had a lot to do with where the post was and being late at night needed sleep lol, thanks for the kind words though.

Cool.

I think the original poster seemed suspicious is all. Like what shake’n’bake called a concern troll. Perhaps not. His first and third point seem to sound more like a back door assault, as no Colts fan I have met would say some of those things. It sounds more like what a Pats fan would fantasize that we think.

I agree with #2, that’s it. I hate the press’ obsession with them. I thought I would throw my t.v. out of the window last year.

I thought we beat them, in Foxboro in 2005…like 40-21 or something? And I have to agree with King…after what is in my opinion the GREATEST GAME EVER PLAYED - the AFCCG of 2006- I’m kind of over it. I’ve moved on to hating Phillip Rivers and the Chargers.

The Colts have won 3 of 4 the last 3 seasons so it is hardly the Pats owning Indy and last season’s loss was pretty close for a Colts team with so many injuries vs the supposed greatest ever who had nobody of value out.

Oh and the 2005 game the colts fried the Pats. Way to fact check.

Definately a troll

His very first point is what caught my attention. I for one do not agree that we are “holier than thou”. Yes Dungy is very religious and has high priorities for his players and will not deal with the shit they can get into (ie Johnson).

One big reason why I dislike the Patriots is how Belicheat (cheap shot, I know) does things. He knew the rules and yet went against them, He forced players to play after concussions, and players using HGH (Harrison).

Why?

If you guys hate the Pats so much, then why did you remove the post about a book that exposes Pats nation as the fickle, front-running, bandwagon jumpers they truly are? It also proves exactly what a cheating, unsportsman-like, monotone coach the “Genius” actually is! Doesn’t make much sense to me.
