Al Davis needs to get kicked from the league
Every owner has a right to fire the their coach. But, to fire one and state plainly that you will not pay the rest of his contract (which Davis is contractually obligated to do, btw) is just sleazy and dishonorable business. Roger Goodell and the owners need to retire this boob, and Lane Kiffin should (and will) sue the utter crap out of him.

I wonder how effective their (truthful) defense will be
Al Davis died 5 years ago, we’ve been running the team with a Ouija board and magic 8 ball

Al Davis
is a jerk. Always has been, always will be.
I think Shake is on to something, judging from Al’s wardrobe, he died back in the 70’s…

Sad
At one point Al Davis was a good version of Jerry Jones, and had a great football mind. These days however, he lacks the patience, and the intelligence to deserve ownership of an NFL team. Anyone who has watched the games this year that the Raiders have played can see they’re an up and coming team, that just needs to play 60 minutes of football not just 45. But now they take a step back, with an interim coach, and another step back with a new system if they choose a new coach for next year.
At least it’s not like the Ram’s situation, where they have the worse D, and worst point differential, so they promote their D coordinator, who by the way is an absolute joke. Owners should realize they need to own the team, and shut up, let football minds make the decisions, and if you don’t like your record find new minds.

Davis
That team will remain a complete joke and it won’t change until Davis dies. Simple as that.

Just thought I'd add this.
I’m watching Foxsports.com’s live feed of Al Davis’s press conference about firing Lane Kiffin. In it they take a ten minute break, but the camera is still rolling. A reporter comes up and asks Al some questions about the money part of the deal and bings up that it isn’t about money, and he always pays – even Shanahan. He then mutters under his breath “He’s a f***ing liar”. Classic Al Davis right there.

Exactly
It seems as though he can find the crap in anything. The opposite of looking for the good in anything. Glad I don’t have to live in his skin…must be very uncomfortable.
