Who says 0-2?
Hey all,
After seeing what the Vikings have to offer, I really don't think that we have to worry about the vikings much! They are gonig to try to run the ball against us, but we can work that out because they have a pretty weak passing game. The packers had everything going in their direction last night (this morning my time) but the vikings didn't seem to have an answer for them! I think we will be ok!
Apparently ESPN analysts are saying that the Colts are going to be the pick for hte AFC this year even more so with the way teams are playing and with other injuries around the league. (God speed Tom, we hate your team, but we respect the hell out of your ability, and I agree, the league won't be the same without you! I think I speak for all colts fans in saying we are sorry for you and hope that you come back to your former self! Good luck)
They know what type of coach TD is and know what type of player Peyton is, and really think that it is only a matter of getting reps to get him back on to dominating this game we call football!
All in all, we should be more than fine!
God Bless,

glass half empty?
Whilst I agree with a lot of what you’re saying, i feel i might be setting myself up for another huge disappointment ala week 1. A few things: firstly, our D was awful on Sunday against Matt Forte and as good as he is, he is not AP and our run D really has to step up. I completely agree that the Vikes passing game is not stellar and this should help us in our ability to stop them running the ball at will, but a caveat to that is that I actually thought Tavaris Jackson showed some promising glimpses in the second half against the pack after a horror show first half. Their WR corps are better this year with Berrian but our secondary should (please God) dominate. Last thing and again blindingly obvious, their run D is brilliant and Addai does not seem to be on form. I know there has only been 1 game but he played poorly at the end of last year and it it his form that is really giving me palpitations. If we want to contend this year we need him to step up and be the player we know he can be. With that said, we need our boys to crap all over their awful pass defence and that means reggie and marv holding thie catches! I think Peyton did about as well as he could be expected to do in week one, he just didn’t get any help, this week I think a pissed off colts offense comes good. Colts by ten in minnesota!

Addai
I think you are harping too badly on Addai. When you only call 15 run plays, and only on obvious running downs, a back has trouble getting into a rhythm, especially behind an o-line that is missing three probable starters in the interior(and Diem played terribly most of the game). Despite this, Addai still ran for just under 4 yards per carry on only 12 carries. And the coaches seemed to not want to take advantage of the depth we have at RB, only putting Rhodes in when we had to, and waiting until the last running play of the game to put in Hart. And I think this pro set formation with Dallas in the FB spot is interesting, but I would like to see them try that with Gijon Robinson there instead. He is supposed to be a dominating lead blocker.
Addai was also not helped by the “pitch stretch” play we tried to run all not since they didn’t want to test Peyton’s knee. This is an example of how BBS can complain about Peyton not being 100% healthy. If he was ready to play, he should have been ready to run the stretch, which is our bread and butter run play. When you have seven defenders on the line of scrimmage almost every play, you can’t spend the time to locate and bring in a pitch and then turn to make play.

i agree with that
i think you’re pretty much spot on with that. The play calling was awful and didn’t give him much of a chance and that was compounded by the o-line being shorn of so much talent. If it sounded like i’m beating too much on addai, that wasn’t the intention, he’s obviously a quality back, i’m just anxious for him to get back to some of the form he showed early last season and it isn’t going to get any easier for him next week in Minnesota.

Interesting. . .
After seeing what the Vikings have to offer, I really don’t think that we have to worry about the vikings much!
I hope your team has the same attitude. They obviously had that attitude going into the Chicago game.

Exactly.
The Bears were underestimated and we spent 3 days preparing for that game…ugh. I have a feeling that this time, a little more effort will go into the preparation… It friggin’ BETTER.
I, for one, will not under estimate the Vikes. I watched them last night and some of those hits I felt!

The Vikings Remind Me Of The Bears
And that’s what scares me.
I think we will win, but I’m not sure. My confidence was knocked down after the Bears game. Federkeil sucked badly. We will need him to play better for the run game to get going.

Their heads were spinning
1LT Bryant,
First thanks for serving our country to keep my family safe. A million thanks for your service.
Second, I feel the Colts kind of got caught with a big head. Like a prize fighter that takes the first REAL jab in a big fight from an underdog. Not that I’m taking away from the Bears because they were playing well Sunday.
The Colts will be fine IMO because they will learn from this and come out swinging from here on out. I think what we saw last week was them coming out flat, catching a good Bears team at the wrong time, and basically underestimating what it would take to win.
Versus the Viking I think the Colts will be more precise. They will hit harder and play smarter.
