Are they going to announce Caldwell at this press conference as well?
They haven’t shown him, but they didn’t show Polian before he spoke.

At work
Can’t listen. Can someone give us a break down in print after its over?
Also, who is there with him?

Thanks for the stream
Watching it in my law school class right now. It won’t help me with bankruptcy, but hopefully Dungy will distract the people behind me as well and keep me within the curve.

So sad. This is unbelievable. We all knew it was coming, but I can’t believe what I’m watching. The Colts will never be the same without Dungy. I’m very sad right now…

I would love to see a Jim Mora commercial right about now
he would bring some fight back to the team………………maybe not

Very sad.
Good for him, sad for us.
I’m glad I can’t hear it right now…I’d be bawling. I’m already having to bite my lip.

Retire #85
Dungy’s number of wins. It is just a weird feeling right now. I can’t believe what I’m watching. It’s so surreal.

I shed a couple of silent tears.

Mine aren't so silent
Perhaps it’s that time of the month, but I’m bawling like a child right now. Thank goodness I’m at home.

One thing about being a girl.
It’s socially acceptable to cry.
I wish I was at home right now.

I know right!
I began to cry right when I saw Bill Poilian get a little teary eyed and especially when Tony began to speak. I could cry right now. :-(

from rotoworld...
Tony Dungy did not rule out an eventual return to the NFL in some capacity at his farewell press conference Monday.
“I don’t anticipate it, but we’ll see,” he said. He also confirmed that Jim Caldwell will replace him as Colts coach. Dungy plans living in Tampa, but says he’ll be in Indianapolis “a lot,” perhaps working as an adviser. Dungy is only 53. There will certainly be rumors linking him to jobs in 2010.

I will be jelous at the team that gets him

It wouldn't be right
for him to go to another team. It would feel so wrong.
That’s like Peyton, Marv, Reggie, Dallas or Bobzilla playing for someone else.

I don't think he'll be coming back
Maybe as an advisor or something, but he’s got a lot of other interests outside the game of football that he wants to pursue. I could be wrong, though.

I have a very hard time seeing him coach again, it’s just not in his personality. When he makes a big decision, he sticks with it.

LOL!
Did you jsut hear Dungy to Kravitz?
“Don’t misquote me at the podium” or something like that
by furrycolt on Jan 12, 2009 5:53 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
wow
Shaking hands with reporters on the way out he tells Kravtiz not to misquote him

I love that he's telling the reporters not to mis-quote him
Kravitz – that means YOU!

I think it was at Kravitz
I’m pretty sure that’s who’s hand he was shaking when he said it.

That's classic!
Just freakin’ classic.
Like the Dungy – Belichick handshake this year.
I love Dungy.

GO COLTS/HORSE!
Look at the bright side. We still have Manning. I might cry when he retires. Unlike Dungy, Manning has no back up unless you guys like Jim Sorgi………………

lets hope Caldwell is the Anthony Gonzalez to Dungy's Marvin Harrison
rather than the Sorgi to Dungy’s Manning.

Great conference
It’s always sad to see a guy like Dungy leave, but I guess that’s selfishness on part of the fans. We knew this day would come and my worry is Jim Caldwell is still a question mark. Hope I’m wrong and he proves to be atleast 75% of Dungy.

Could that 75% please include the game played in Miami next February?
Just sayin’
by LovinBlue on Jan 12, 2009 6:22 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Hope it does..
Look at Ole Chucky. He’s probably 50% of Dungy and still won!

Let the Caldwell era begin
I trust what Dungy said, and I believe he is ready to lead our team.
by metal_militia on Jan 12, 2009 6:04 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
and I don't think I've seen anyone mention the best reason to be confident in the Caldwell Era
He’s an Iowa alum, so of course he’s awesome.

By the way
What’s up with Peyton’s comment that he thought Dungy would return? Got my hopes up, man!! Has anyone heard from him? Bet that, despite his support for Caldwell, he’s bummin’
by LovinBlue on Jan 12, 2009 8:52 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Of course he is
They both got “the monkey off of each other backs” (that’s what the media believes, not me). But still, he knows that Dungy was a major reason for the success of the team. If that’s not the case then the Colts would’ve kept Mora.
