"He came and met me at my high school in 1973 and showed me a videotape of what this offense was all about," Tony Dungy said a couple of years ago. "He said, 'Here's what happens -- you go to the line of scrimmage, I give you three or four plays, you look at the defense and if you see this, you do that.' And I watched that video and thought, 'Wow, this would be fun.' "
This is my final walk down memory lane with Tony Dungy. In this quote, Dungy describes how, when he was looking for colleges to go to and play football, then-University of Minnesota coach Tom Moore showed him the kind of offense he likes to run. Gee, does the offense Dungy describes above sound any different than the one Tom Moore has for Peyton Manning today? Amazing how things work out. Link via 18 to 88.

It really was the perfect scenario for Dungy
I read his book and he mentioned all that, which I didn’t know. He later mentions that when he came to Indy he knew that he could fix the defense after his Tampa days, but he also thought that he could help the offense. After all, he was a quarterback in college with the exact same offense.
