Chris Johnson upset he was not picked Offensive Rookie of the Year
"I really think the whole thing is bogus, I was the only rookie to make the Pro Bowl this year"
I can't believe a professional athlete would actually come out and say something like this. Although some may feel that they were shafted on an award, you'll never hear them come out in public and say it. When Peyton had to share an MVP award with a QB who wasn't even in the same stratosphere as him, he didn't bitch, because he is a professional.
Chris, your team was a playoff team last year without you, the Titans also have a great defense. The Titans would have won with or without you. You are a great talent, but don't second guess that Matt Ryan did more for his team, let alone as a rookie, than you could have possibly imagined. Be a professional and shut your mouth.

as much as you can respect fisher
He has team full of whiny trouble makers…. Whether Haynesworth, LenDale White, Pacman jones or whatever, they don’t seem to take much account of character in their drafts. I just wonder how this team will hold together for the pressure of the playoffs with all this type of behaviour they exhibit.
An expert is someone who knows more and more about less and less until they know everything about nothing...
As much as I respecTED Fisher
Past tense. I put something on the other thread so I’ll just cut and paste that part.
“Oh, and it’s also taught me one last thing. I’m not stereotyping Titans fans because there’s always exceptions to the rule, but they’re starting to fit into the "wow you guys are annoying" category. And that probably stems from their players/coach uncharacteristically showing signs of punkism. If you guys don’t know what punkism it’s what P. Rivers came down with last year (i.e. LenDale White thinking he’s super awesome). It’s also what T.O. takes before every game (i.e. See Chris Johnson saying he deserved ROY over Ryan and not even realizing Slaton had a better year than him behind a non-playoff non-running team). And Fisher’s been reading Bill’s book on "How to be a Dick and ruin your image". Think if the Colts play them he walks off the field before the game officially ends? Before I would’ve said no but I now I won’t be surprised.”
By the way, Johnson wasn’t even the top rookie RB. Slaton and Forte both had more rush yards. Slaton – 1659 scrimmage yards, 10 TDs. And you can’t use that Johnson wasn’t the feature back, Slaton wasn’t until Ahman Green went on IR. Forte – 1715 scrimmage 12 TDs. And Forte was seriously the only thing the Bears scared anyone with. And he was injured the last 3 games. Johnson – 1488 scrimmage, 10 TDs. And sorry Chris, you had 8 yards on 14 carries against Chicago.
Chris Johnson wasn’t even the ROY in the AFC South. I saw them both play, the Houston line isn’t suddenly better, it’s still poor. Slaton was busting long runs with defenders in the backfield and his blocking breaking down. I also think Slaton might not put up the 40 yard time Johnson did but to me, Slaton seems faster in pads. The dude made Sage Rosenfels look good, that’s all I’ve got to say.
Johnson’s 100+ yard games came against CIN, KC, DET, CLE. Slaton’s were against TEN, IND, JAC, GB, TEN. And like I said, if Slaton had been the feature back and wasn’t thought to be wearing down, his numbers would have been even better. Slaton and MJD are both better backs than Johnson.
And about the T. Jones thing, at least he was making sense. I wouldn’t lay all the blame on Favre, he wasn’t calling the plays. They got rid of the person who was the problem in NY. I don’t mind real talk at all. But if Johnson was the only back with a poor offensive line, no defense to keep them in the game, and an offense designed around passing he’d better be putting up significantly higher numbers than the rest of the rookies to not come out looking like a whiner.
What Cutler said at the end of the Chargers game was true straight talk. The Titans are definitely looking more like the Cowboys now than the Steelers/Colts in being professional.
he's wrong but
at least he’s not giving some clichéd answer, he’s speaking his mind, he didn’t watch matt ryan play all year, of course he wanted to win, no big deal.
thomas jones calling out favre was another refreshing example of real talk this week.

I agree
This rookie class of running was pretty good, but what Matt Ryan did (with the help of Michael Turner) is pretty impressive. Just because you’re the only rookie to make the pro bowl doesn’t mean you deserve ROY. Also I like how Thomas Jones kept it real when it came to Favre. The media loves portraying Favre as a good guy who can’t do any wrong, but the dude is as big as a drama queen as T.O.
Yes, he has become a drama queen.
Living in Tampak and following the Bucs to some degree, I can certainly remember Farve and the Packers giving the Bucs major trouble every year. He looked amazing. Too bad he couldn’t protect his legacy a bit and retire with some dignity.
Thomas Jones on ESPN First Take this morning
That Dana chick was talking to Jones about his comments about Favre needed to be bench in the season finale against Miami and the tone she using kinda pissed me off as if she was pissed that Thomas Jones was disrespecting Favre and doesn’t want to teabag Favre like everyone at ESPN does. Man, I hate all things ESPN.
The best offensive rookie was Ryan Clady
He’s a LT. Deal with it. Nothing against Matt Ryan, but Clady played much better at his position than Ryan, and was a big reason the Broncos 8th HB could still run.
That’s how I see it. Of course he had no shot to win it, but he was DOMINANT and is already a top 5 tackle. You can’t say that about any other rookie on offense.

Agreed
Clady was amazing all year. He was also amazing in pass blocking. .5 sacks I believe was the number.
Oh please
I didn’t see Joseph Addai or any of the other good rookies complaining when VY won his ROY. This is why the Titans won’t make it to the Super Bowl or even the AFCCG. They are 10 year olds in 25 year olds’ bodies.
Chris
Some needs to tell CJ that no one gives a shit about the Pro Bowl. Cowboys safety Roy Williams went to 6 of them, and he sucks. Vince Young went to one.
