So
This means 18 sports writers are nothing more than clueless idiots or blind homers to the teams they cover. Chris Johnson for MVP? Someone actually voted for Kurt Warner? Dorks.

I swear
Some writers just do it to be different, just to be contrary.

You can't explain love -- it just is.
Ask Peter King…
As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about. --Shaun of the Dead

He'd be worth a vote -- though clearly not a winner.
Matt Ryan is another one I think should have gotten a vote or two.
Harrison, Rivers, Warner, Turner and Johnson surprise me. Seems like this often comes down to the question of what MVP means: Best player in the league? or most valuable (necessary) to his team?
If I ever got invited to the conversation, my instinct would be to make a list of guys who’s team finds absolutely necessary to its success, judge the degree of that need, rank accordingly and judge the top few against each other.
This was definitely Peyton’s award this year: no one has done more for his team at a higher level.
OTOH, for argument’s sake, if you took Peyton away from the Colts and Peterson away from the Vikings, I think the Colts would win 10 out of 10 games. Peterson is arguably more important (and therefore more valuable) to his team than Manning is to the Colts.
I think the same could be said for Cassel. I’m not saying he should have won. And I know you love to bag on Pats fans. But it isn’t absurd to include him in the conversation.

Are you drunk?
The Vikings have a starter in Chester Taylor backing them up, we have a guy who wasn’t even the unquestioned starter for a Wisconsin team.
I’d argue that Welker or Moss is more importanat to that team than Cassel, most of Cassel’s passes to Welker were thrown behind the line of scrimmage, relying on Welker’s YAC to get any type of yardage.

Must be
On multiple different posts I’ve recently gone over why Peterson and others aren’t on the same level so I won’t go over it again.
As to the Cassel reference…seriously dude? No really, seriously? Hold on, let me ask you one more time if I confused you….seriously? First off this is probably the wrong place to come to make a case for Cassel (who has had a good year), but any props you give to Cassel completely spits in the face of the coaching ability that BB has shown this year. And straight up I can’t stand that guy but he’s a phenomenal coach, especially with what he’s done this year. To say Cassel is even remotely close to the conversation is laughable.

Seriously?
Chris Johnson gets an MVP vote and DeAngelo Williams doesn’t? That’s whack.

I just saw Chris Johnson complaining about something on ESPN
This is off the subject, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more stupid football player in my history of watching the game. The guy can barely talk.

I know what you mean
I could barely watch him. It sounded like he mush in his mouth; also I don’t care if he is a professional football player, I wouldn’t even look his way if he tried to talk to me. He’s disgusting!!!
