Tomlinson and Manning...

Surprised to not see anything on these two subjects...

First, its being reported by multiple media outlets (including Adam Schefter of the NFL network) that LaDanian Tomlinson has a torn man muscle.  I don't know about you, but if my man muscle was torn, that would be painful.  As I said earlier in the week, I'd prefer to see more Tomlinson than Sproles, because Tomlinson generally doesn't do much against the Colts, but I don't know if Sproles can carry a full load.

Second, did anyone catch Tom Jackson's interview with Peyton Manning (with guest appearances by Curtis Martin, Troy Brown, Trent Dilfer, Steve "TEH WARRIOR" McNair, and John Lynch)?  It was really cool.  It had nothing to do with the season or his knee surgeries, just kinds of paint Peyton as a person more pro sports people should attempt to act like.  Was really nice, and was so classy even Tomlinson would have approved.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Man Muscle

Definitely +1 for that.

I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation

Just saw it

But I’d rather have Sproles rushing than returning kicks. Seriously. And I doubt they use him as both. Or if they do, he won’t be as good returning kicks. I hope.

The way it's looking now...

Tomlinson is a game time decision and some people are saying he’ll probably be a no go. Can’t let our guard down though. Sproles can be very dangerous and Tomlinson will do anything in his power to play.

Are you talking about the segment where they were talking about Peyton writting personal letters?

I came in right at the end of them showing a letter Peyton wrote to someone. I hate that I missed it.

Yes, I saw the interview

Manning is such a class act. I’m sure it meant a lot to those guys to get a letter from Peyton Manning…..handwritten no less. He just always continues to impress me. I have a higher regard for Dilfer now, knowing Manning had enough regard for him to write him a personal letter upon retirement. Go Colts, kick some serious ass tonight!

I wonder

What’s put into these letters…

basics:

It was written on Peyon Williams Manning letter head, then it was:

Dear Retired Player,

I want to congratulate you on a fine career. I admired the way you played the game on the field and how you carried yourself off the field. You were a fine example for me and everyone around the world. You were a great competitor and I admired your grit, toughness, etc… I hope you have a successful and happy post-playing career.

Sincerely, Peyton Manning

Then, for each person, there was a personal touch, like he thanked Dilfer for being nice and helpful to him all the way back to his rookie year. He commented on playing with Curtis Martin at the Pro Bowl and a game they played against each other when Martin busted his nose. Stuff like that.

Also I think for some people that he didn’t like, there was some powdery stuff..

Wonder what he'll write to Favre...

not exactly stellar behavior off the field this past off season…
