I'm pretty new to SB, but from the short time I've been around I have learned that there's some people in here who have a lot more knowledge than me when it comes to not only our beloved Colts, but football in general. As I sit at work bored out of my mind I just have a curiousity about a few guys in the draft and what some of you think about them and how you think they would fit into the Colts game plan(obviously a lot has to do with the new DC and scheme we run). Now I've seen the debates on WR and DT in the 1st round picks but I'm more interested in the mid to late round picks
First of all I'm a big Hawkeye fan and I love Mitch King so my opinion is biased, but I think he would fit great into the Colts system as a DT. I see a lot of sights listing him as a DE, and I know he's a bit undersized as far as a DT goes but I think he is a solid one at that. In the 4 years I've watched him he's always been able to hold his own against much bigger guards and even penetrate and disrupt in the backfield by leading the Hawks in TFL and Sacks the last couple years. I know in the T2 at least we don't have the biggest DTs, I mean Raheem Brock isn't your prototypical DT as far as the NFL goes, so I was curious how some of you think he measures up for our system as is. I also think he could be taken in the 4th round or later which to me seems to be good value.
The other guys other guys I wanted to hear about would be Zach Fullett of Cal, and Dannell Ellerbee of Georgia, two guys I like and I think can play (at least at the college level) and could hopefully be an upgrade as far as linebackers go (which may not be saying a lot).
Any other late rounders anyone can think about I wouldn't mind hearing about, Tackles, Receivers, maybe a solid late round RB. I appreciate it fellas, and I'll just sit back and be interested in what you guys have to say.
