MVP debate
I'm glad that Peyton, who was the only real candidate for MVP, won it. But, around the league several people were pulling for Pennington, Rivers, or Turner.
Turner- 2.3 YAC, longest carry 13 yards, 7 yards receiving
Rivers- 20 of 36 for 217 yards, 55.6% completion, 1 interception, 61.9 QB rating
Pennington- 25 of 38 for 65.8% completion, 4 interceptions, 53.7 QB rating
Manning- 25 of 42 for 59.5% completion, no interceptions, 90.4 QB rating
In what world could people argue with those numbers?

There's also the ever-present
argument about what team would have done as well as they had without said player. Last night’s game actually proved how valuable Peyton had been all year to the team – he just couldn’t get one more game done when the running game was fully exposed and an assignment was missed. Still, I’d rather him have that 2nd piece of championship hardware than a 3rd MVP award. Sigh.

yeah
Peyton showed last night that he was the clear choice and the fact he had the game he had with that piss poor run game, that mediocre OL and against a D that was hyped up and playing to stop the pass almost every down shows how good he has been this season.
All one needs to do is look at Chad’s game to see the comparo. Chad faced the same stuff with pressure, no run game, bad field position and a D in pass coverage and he was shit.
I am confident that if you put another qb, even if he is a very good one, into that game last night that he’d have been picked off a couple times and not come close to 300 pass yards.
It is pretty sad that until OT, peyton had more yards than the entire Chargers team. If that doesn’t show a guy was carrying his entire team then I don’t know what does.
Nobody should blame Peyton for that loss and should wonder wtf the OL/run game was to actually help the team. They make money too.

I was so happy when Peyton won the MVP, but, after watching the playoff game, I finally had my worst fears realized. As much as I hate to say this, I think Peyton is a racist football player. As I watched the first half of that game and saw him look for Gonzo time after time I knew something had to be up. The Chargers corners aren’t that great, so Peyton has his option to throw to whomever he wants. When he looks off Wayne and Harrison for Clark and Gonzo, he’s doing it because of racism and I’m sick of it!!! In the second half he began throwing to Wayne at least, but I’m guessing that’s because Dungy gave him an ultimatum and made him. I have now officially stopped supporting him until he gets his act together and includes everyone in te offense. I know he’s a good qb, I just want him to prove to me he’s also a good person.
Colts Rule. Pats suck.

I must point out to you, you idiot, that Gonzalez is a hispanic name.
You need to be banned – you have gone way too far this time.

Peyton doesn't hate half cubans
just black people.
Except for that one year when he threw a NFL record number of receptions to Marvin Harrison.
and all those years he threw to Marvin that made them the most prolific QB-WR combo ever.
and that year where he threw to Reggie so much that Reggie led the league in receiving yards.
