Colts ruined my post season
Yes, it's true. Not only am I dejected about my Patriots lack of a playoff berth, but Indy managed to almost end my interest in the playoff goings on. How so, you ask? In an odd and twisted sort of way, I was rooting for Indy. Sure, I still can't stand your team in more ways than is healthy for me to mention, but that doesn't mean I don't respect The Horse. And besides, we're all getting along so famously of late.
Seriously, after 9 straight wins, it sucks to see it come to an end. However, I am grateful we're spared the potential of a Manning vs. Manning SB. Watching Archie try to figure out which sideline to stand on would be a hoot, but I'd be sick with all the double stuff Oreo commercials. In fact, I'd most likely have to eat an entire package of Oreo cookies per quarter, only to purge at the end of said quarter in order to "chase away the demons".
Anyways, I have plenty to worry about in the off-season. We have a fair number of FAs and UFAs, not to mention using the "F" word with Cassel as well as much speculation about Tom Terrific's knee (most of it BS), and let's not forget trying to find a serviceable corner (should've paid Asante Samuel). Lots to chat about...
Hopefully, Tony Dungy doesn't retire in '09. It'd be a hoot to see another AFCCG between our teams. Well, with a different result mind you.

Sorry for that.
REALLY. SORRY.
This has been a very strange Twilight Zone year – all the way around. I hope next year we find our teams back where we’ve come to expect them to be. I say it’s time for the parity to come to an end.
Yeah, shoulda paid Samuel….

Sorry your postseason is ruined.
I don’t even know who to pull for now. I think that I am a bit disinterested at this point as well. I guess it’s time to just sit back and not care who wins. This is a strange sensation this early in the playoffs, for both of our teams.

If only Rivers would get hurt
then I could root for the Chargers since Meriman is already out, they have two Iowa alums (one who is the only current NFL player from my hometown) and I have no bad feelings towards any of the other players.
It would also put the Colts at 4 years out of 6 the last being knocked out of the playoffs by the SB Champ (Pats, Pats, Steelers, Won SB, 07, this year)

Actually
I was surprised by how classy Rivers conducted himself post game. Even with the Cutler situation, this season he seemed to handle himself better than Jay, letting his play do his talking while Cutler stirred the pot in several interviews. I am wondering if Rivers has matured a lot this past year. If so, I can chalk the past up to youth. Then again, maybe there are things that I am unaware of…

Rooting in the Coltless playoffs
Being a Colts fan living in South Carolina I have decided to root whole heartedly for the home town Panthers. Teams that I dont want to win include Tennessee (for obv reasons), San Diego (for obv reasons) and the NY Giants. I swear to god that if i have to go through a whole season of “eli is better than peyton cuz he has 2 superbowls” I will kill myself. I’m actually rooting for the Ravens. I want a Ravens-Panthers superbowl.

I too am rooting for the Ravens
I enjoyed watching Baltimore absolutely filet Miami. They have a very strong, fast, and smart defense. I’m a believer that a good D is what’s important in Jan/Feb.

Me too
I’m rooting for the Panthers, as I have family in North and South Carolina. I also liked them from the moment I read about them naming the new team the Panthers with the colors Blue and Black. I mean, I was a kid and they had a mascot that was my favorite animal and they used my two favorite colors. I’d like to see an expansion team get a Lombardi – and it not be the Jaguars.
I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation

This isn't directed at you, Ma
Since you aren’t being the abominable doucheman, but just in general, whats up with all the non-colts fans in the past 24 hrs? I expected an influx of trolls, but not 3 days after the loss. I just can’t understand going to another teams board after a loss to rub it in. Heck, I’m not even registered on any other teams’ board and the only college team board I’m registered on is the Jacksonville Jaguars, and I rarely post there. Oh well, protect this house, etc…
And trust me, they ruined my post-season more. Atleast the Buckeyes wo… er… atleast the USA won in the WJHC… err (sorry, thats junior hockey for all you non-americans-living-in-canada ians.) Well, atleast I’m not OJ Simpson.

Actually
This year has been a lot better than last year for post playoff loss trolls. I expected the Titans fans to be like the Pats fans were last season, coming over here after the Chargers loss and talking smack. But they haven’t so much. And the Pats fans have been pleasant overall this year. What is the deal?

Funny
It actually is kind of funny, but for the most part, aside from the non football educated fans of course, NE fans have actually been one of only sections outside the Colts community supporting us. Probably has alot to do with us actually having sort of a breather, mind you not one we’d hope for either of the teams with the injury, and have come to realize that everyone hates us. I mean yeah, I can say that I’m a pretty big anti Pats fan when everything’s at the natural balance, but if Peyton went down and I saw everyone dogging you guys, I know enough about football to rationally understand the bias.
Rivalries are at times fierce, brutal, absurd at times and seldom appreciated during the present. Hindsight, which Brady’s injury has shown, makes us realize how much we’ll miss an era. And the Colts/Pats rivalry has definitely definied this past decade.
I expect the awkward truce to last until preseason, but there’ll definitely be some “SCREW YOU MAPATSFAN!!!” in the future, I have no doubt. Strong reactions are the product of strong emotions and strong emotions come from great, close, games. The Colts/Pats regular season games are considered some of the most intense, most watched throughout the year. Not bad for non division rivals. I think we fans have been blessed with what we’ve witnessed and will be looking to the future for at least a few more years. And I’m not rubbing this in, but the Colts coming back against the Pats in the AFC Championship game definitely galvanized this into a legit rivalry that’ll be talked about for decades. If we didn’t win that one it wouldn’t have the glamour it does now.
Here’s to two of the best teams of the decade duking it out for the next few years and providing us undeserving fans the ability to knowingly witness football legends in their primes. May we beat you senseless, take Giselle hostage, and force BB to take a bath and wear a suit. I expect the feeling to be completely mutual.

Well the way I see it is, there’s no way this rivalvry could have gotten any more intense than it was last year anyways.

We could’ve beat the Chargers and played in the Championship game….
