Just call the play-by-play, Joe! Let Aikman do the commentary."
Peyton Manning, kindly reminders FOX announcer Joe Buck that no one cares what he thinks or feels about a game. Just call what happens on the field.

Loved that quote!
I can only hope Artie Lange heard it.

I really hate how
Announcing crews are constantly talking about non-game related things now-a-days. What did he have for breakfast, who’d he play for before, why’s Tom Brady better than Peyton, why Dan Marino’s 2 rings are better than Peyton’s 1… etc.. If the colour guy is good, I want the play-by-play guy to do play-by-play and the colour guy to go to the replay after most plays and show us what worked and what didnt, explain coverages, blitz, who missed blocks, etc.. instead, you have someone like Billick on there that UNDERSTANDS the stuff, and he just spouts cliches for 3 hrs.

Gus Johnson
What about him?

i don't hate him as much as you do :P
I think he’s good for a game like Oakland v Tampa Bay. But the shitting yourself over a 1 yard dive is over the top. However, I think someone like Dierdorf is worse than Johnson. I think Johnson can SOUND like he’s rooting for someone just because of his excitement. Dierdorf, on the other hand, seems to root for a certain story (The jags beating the big bad colts or the jets beating the pats, etc… and he never comes off of it). I don’t complain about announcers, really, but I don’t like many. Like I said, I wish people that know stuff would teach viewers.

of topic but
looks like there is a good chace we have everyone exept gonzo (still a ? mark) back for the rams. hayden has stated also that he could have played this last game but decided to give it another week since they had the bye week.

I love Gonzo
But, quite honestly, at this point, it really looks like we’re doing pretty great without him. Still, I’d like to see him return sooner than later.

I would rather he NOT play against the Rams
because they are not going to be a threat. That team is in shambles and I think an extra week can only help Gonzo out.
The way our defense is set up, it puts me in situations where I'm one-on-one in making tackles on running backs. When I go into it, I think I am going to win. It really doesn't matter the size, height, weight, whatever. I'm not afraid of putting my body in there." - Bob Sanders

I don’t understand this line of thinking. not trying to be an ass, but if his knee is cleared for contact and playing, etc.. why have him sit an extra week? Why does it matter who the Colts are playing? It should be simple, he’s either ready to play or he’s not. If he is ready to play, then the sooner he gets out there, the better. It’s going to take him time to get into game shape, to get used to taking hits, and get back in a rhythm with the offense. If he’s not ready, then it shouldn’t even be a question of if he plays or not.

i agree as soon as he is able to play
gonzo should get some reps in game time play no reason to hold him out completley let him play some like we did with freeney or hayden and just limit the plays for him mabye and i think it would be good to have him play against the rams cause u could just get your timing back and not have to worry to much

Bobzilla has been cleared by the doctors
and a lot assumed he would play last night but he didnt. I know your not tryin to be an ass and I see your point but, I guess its just a matter of opinion. I really dont see how one more week could hurt him. And the Offense has done fine without him. Just like the Defense has done fine without Bob. They need to be 100% in the games coming up and I just dont want to risk anything in the Rams game. Cause after the Rams come the 49ers and the Texans (shouldnt be too much of a concern) and the Pats, and even the Ravens. 3 outta those 4 are pretty good teams. Never thought I’d be saying that about the 49ers this soon, but they are a good team. Maybe I’m being a little too cautious.

He was just saying that IF he is cleared by then, he should play (if he feels ready)
