Tom Brady? Here?
Mon Oct 12, 2009 11:42 am EDT Yesterday's least valuable players: By MJD Tom Brady(notes), QB, New England Patriots. At the two-minute warning, the Patriots had the ball, 1st and 10, at their own 49 yard line, with the score tied. Tom Brady wins in that situation 100 times out of 100, right? Maybe not anymore. On second down, Brady took a sack and coughed up the football, the Broncos forced overtime and they snatched the win. For five games now, Tom Brady has not been the Tom Brady we're used to, and I think it's fair to wonder how much of that is because Josh McDaniels is now on the opposite sideline, and not on Brady's sideline

It says “Yesterday’ least valuable players” and questions Tom Brady’s skill level in regard to not having Josh McDaniels on his sideline.
I thought this interesting, with everything going on about Brady that one of his most vivid supporters would write something this critical.
Maybe I should have posted this in FANSHOTS instead wasn’t sure.

Brady's numbers so far
this year aren’t earning him any accolades. No question he’s still a bit off and inconsistent, whether it’s because of the full year out of the league, or the loss of McDaniels or a combination of both he’s got a long way to go to get back – not even to 2007, but just to normal.
It’s funny that for both the media and fans it’s easier to say that Brady will take a while to return to form in theory, but hard to keep that perspective when watching him struggle a bit in these early weeks and miss throws you know he could make before with his eyes closed. Personally, I have mid-season in mind for seeing a better performance from him. He works hard, always has, so we’ll see.
Keep the faith!
I agree...
I think by mid season he should be close to old form…not missing wide open Randy Moss in the endzone…I almost choked when he over threw that pass!! Brady is a very hard worker and hopefully will be back…otherwise the posts on this board will go down by half because most everybody here is infatuated with Brady……

"I don't really trust a sane person."
"I never met a man I didn't want to fight." The one and only Lyle Alzado
Case in point
The Colts were 3-4 through week 8, with Peyton finally hitting his stride in week 9 to finish the season 12-4. Brady’s injury was obviously far worse than Peyton’s, but he (Brady) has also had far longer to rehab than Peyton had and he’s had the benefit of playing in the pre-season.
The scenario of going from ho-hum to the top of the division could easily happen for the Pats… right now sitting on 3-2, Brady could help lead the Pats to 14-2… well maybe 13-3 counting week 10 ;-)
Nobody should be counting this team out, nor believing that Brady can’t work back to the level he was pre-injury. I too was shocked when I saw the replays of him missing Moss wide open, and missing Welker in the seam (even though Welker took the blame for that one). If that had been Peyton I would probably have passed out. But looking back, Peyton missed his share of throws like that early last year, causing me to wonder whether his hand was injured (before I knew he had had knee surgery).
How can you not love a team that does this?
p.s.
I didn’t mean to imply that Brady’s hand is injured… just pointing out that Peyton missed a couple of these throws, too, but eventually got back into the groove.
Sorry… it’s 8am and I’m a bit under the weather today!
How can you not love a team that does this?
Maybe not the hand, but the shoulder
He connected with Moss preseason, then had the shoulder driven into the ground by Albert Haynesworth. Hasn’t hit Moss deep since? Coincidence? Maybe, but it’s possible. I’ll just go and check the injury report. LOL

The Pats play Tenn. and Tampa Bay next 2 games.
Brady’s play will get better.

Brady isn't a lot different
the truth is he WAS different in 2007, because he posted amazing numbers. He is usually a barely 4000 yard passer with middle to high 20s touchdowns per season. The comeback stuff wasn’t succesful, as it wasn’t against us in the 06 national championship and some other times, HE ISN’T GOD! Peyton is making them look easy, but it is hard even for him, specially when you’re facing an excited, defense on the road, and without your left tackle protecting your blindside and your recently surgically repaired knee.
Go Colts!
Expect him to have
around 3700 passing yards (most will come in the last games of the season) and about 20something TDs..
Go Colts!
Don't care about the stats, just the wins.

He'll bounce back.
I expext him to have around 4100-4300 yards and 24-28 Touchdowns. He’ll probably end up having over 600 attempts though. They should go either 12-4 or 11-5, which is about where I had them pegged before the season because I expected Brady might be a bit rusty to start. They should be in thge Super Bowl mix come playoff time.
