DAMN

I thought he was playing quite well?!?!?

How can you not love a team that does this?

Don't believe it

No other sources are reporting this. I don’t believe it until the Colts confirm it. He hasn’t been arrested for anything (that I know of) so I don’t see the motive since he is our best DT

Interesting

He seemed to be doing fine this year. Can only mean good things for Muir, Foster, and even (gasp) Moala.

This can't be right.

Ed has been playing amazing this year since that Miami game. Florio has to be wrong in this.

Wait for an actual cited source.

If it is true, it has nothing to do with his play.

And if it is, we’ll be OK. Muir has been playing very well in his chances.

A team meeting, this makes NO sense. Ed performs, is a Vet, and his teammates love him. If it’s tru then Big Fili better come outta hiding after the bye playing his ASS off! I’m talking Warren frigin Sapp

Why do they need to trade?

Foster and Muir have been playing great, along with Mookie. Throw in Brock and we still have a deep rotation.

Deep? Yes.

Dominant? No, and that’s what so crushing about this move.

they held MJD under 100 for the first time.

And that was the first game too. Peyton only led the offense to 14 points in that game too. It takes time to get rolling.

I want him to stay at DE. I would rather pick up a FA or sign Grady or Taylor for depth.

It’s time for Muir to live up to expectations.

So far, he has been pretty good in the real season after looking kind of bad early in preseason.

But i just don’t own any glasses shaded dark enough blue. This definitely sucks. I’ve always liked him and really enjoyed the redemption story. I imagine his teammates have to be pretty upset with him.

And really, how do you not quit drugs in this scenario? Especially considering his career. Hell, I used to smoke way too much weed in college and basically quit when I got to law school to protect a potential career. I really hope for his sake that he didn’t get caught for/with weed again. It would just be sad.

Ironic

given this thread

though it raises a question… why would white collar criminal procedure be different from any other criminal procedure… isn’t that discrimination of some sort? violation of due process? (this from the plethora of law classes I’ve taken – 1 in undergrad and 1 in grad school)

How can you not love a team that does this?

by LovinBlue on Oct 13, 2009 7:04 PM EDT up reply actions

not to go off on a huge tangent

the technical procedure is the same but the procedure of how these cases actually shake out is different. it’s obviously different to try and investigate/prosecute a super rich huge company vs. a low level street criminal. Plus, the procedure is oftentimes dictated by the laws at issue. The white collar laws are generally pretty different because it’s a harder crime to prosecute.

By the way,

I’m not mad at Polian or Caldwell at all for taking a chance on Ed Johnson. It was a low risk/high reward decision at the time, and it just turned out on the negative side. I can’t blame Polian/Caldwell for this.

roster manipulation by Polian

Maybe we’re all hyperventilating over nothing. Maybe Polian is just being tricky and cutting Mr. Weeds temporarily while he manages some other roster trickeration.
On that note, may I have another bourbon and caffeine free diet pepsi, please?

Dogging it?

I’m wondering (as BigBlueShoe posted at http://www.stampedeblue.com/2009/10/13/1084024/welcome-to-schmuckville-population) if Big Ed was one of the players to whom Polian was referring on his radion show (as mentioned by SpazMo at http://www.stampedeblue.com/2009/10/13/1082817/to-whom-is-polian-referring-quotes).

by DaGeneral on Oct 14, 2009 9:48 AM EDT reply actions

different language

colts.com says “waived” and couples it with info about signing Stover to fill in for Adam V. So maybe the he gets re-signed later or signed to the PS? Maybe it’s just a roster move and nothing more and the Colts figure he’s the least likely to be stolen away by another team because of his past.

by jedye on Oct 14, 2009 11:56 AM EDT reply actions

but I wonder whether Big Ed will be willing to put in the work required to earn his spot back after what was a seemingly blindside move
