too bad

I don’t know if this is wrong, but I’m guessing Ed either broke the law, team rules or an NFL policy. It’s too bad, I think we all agree that he was a good football player for our team. I don’t see how the Colts bring him back a third time. I wonder if they make a trade for a DT now. Rumor has it, Moala isn’t playing that well.

With Johnson gone (again), Moala not playing well, Terrance Taylor and Adrian Grady gone, wouldn’t it seem that the Colts are now in the same situation they were all of last year when we couldn’t stop anyone?

The Colts gave him another chance this season believing his appologies were sincere and that if givin a second chance he wouldnt scerw up. Well guess what? SUPRISE!!! He obviously fucked up somewhere

not only would he STILL be starting but i bet Jerry Jones would’ve been rolling all of his doobies. we also had a guy like that, and we sent his fat ass to San Diego. we got a 6th round pick for him, 5th round if he plays well. (so basically we got a 6th round pick.) as a professional football player at SOME point you have to make a decision to be a “professional.” meaning, you don’t drive around with herb in your car. you make someone else bring it to u! lol

Polian

Was this who Polian talking about when he said that someone on the defense was dogging it? Are we all just jumping to conclusions on the drug policy, or has that been confirmed?

Also, maybe we bring Adrian Grady back? Do we have an eye on someone coming in before the Trade deadline? Maybe a straight up trade between Garcon and….I dont know, Kris Jenkins? (Or whoever)

still, the sentiment is right

if Polian comes out and says “Listen, we decided we were just as good with upstanding citizens Dan Muir, Eric Foster and Mookie Johnson as we were with the oft-troubled Ed Johnson,” I won’t have a problem with it. there are plenty of reasons I could learn to be just fine with this

by Louisville Soul Train on Oct 13, 2009 6:51 PM EDT up reply actions

moreover

Clayton said it too, and he is normally spot on as well.

If he did get cut, I have a hard time believing it was his play… Normally a drastic improvement in run defense does not correllate with poor DT play.

Even if he was cut,

I think we will be fine. Mookie and Muir know the system much better than they did last year. Foster knows the system and has been productive. Moala should be coming along. We are in a much better situation than we were last year with or without Ed.

It has to be that or drugs. You don’t cut someone who was a starter for no reason. And if Tim Jennings is considered reliable when starters go down, I don’t see why we wouldn’t at least keep Ed as a backup. Sad times, but in Polian we trust….

Yet

He made a great special teams tackle later in the game, intercepted a pass (no cushion on that play), failed on two interceptions later, but I don’t think he needs to be criticized as much as he is.

I don't know how he saw the waiver wire

Maybe that’s what this “league source” saw and told Florio. A mistake like this was made just two weeks ago. I’m trying to remember the player involved.

But read this quote, which is amazing to me:

The release likely means the end of his career and is a major blow for an unbeaten team playing its best defense. The Colts had allowed just 163 yards rushing in the past three games, the second-lowest yield over such a span in franchise history.

Average- 82.75 yards/game

At least we will have lots to talk about during the bye week

"In a nation ruled by swine, all pigs are upwardly mobile—and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely.
