you are fucking kidding me!
I wonder why… did he cross an internal line of misbehavior? Or just not cut it? I kind of hope somebody (in the NFC) picks him up…
maybe I should read the link first
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.
too bad
I don’t know if this is wrong, but I’m guessing Ed either broke the law, team rules or an NFL policy. It’s too bad, I think we all agree that he was a good football player for our team. I don’t see how the Colts bring him back a third time. I wonder if they make a trade for a DT now. Rumor has it, Moala isn’t playing that well.
With Johnson gone (again), Moala not playing well, Terrance Taylor and Adrian Grady gone, wouldn’t it seem that the Colts are now in the same situation they were all of last year when we couldn’t stop anyone?

Ed Johnson? what’s his story? never heard of the guy…. from the sounds of it, he sounds like a “Travis Johnson” type guy…. what is it with guys with the last name of Johnson? always on the wrongf side of the “long arm” of the law (that’s what she said)

wow…umm well hes a DAMN GOOD DT that was cut once by the Colts for Marijuana found on him when he was pulled over for speeding. The Colts gave him another chance this season believing his appologies were sincere and that if givin a second chance he wouldnt scerw up. Well guess what? SUPRISE!!! He obviously fucked up somewhere
The way our defense is set up, it puts me in situations where I'm one-on-one in making tackles on running backs. When I go into it, I think I am going to win. It really doesn't matter the size, height, weight, whatever. I'm not afraid of putting my body in there." - Bob Sanders

geez louise…. Colts don’t play! had he been a cowgurl….
not only would he STILL be starting but i bet Jerry Jones would’ve been rolling all of his doobies. we also had a guy like that, and we sent his fat ass to San Diego. we got a 6th round pick for him, 5th round if he plays well. (so basically we got a 6th round pick.) as a professional football player at SOME point you have to make a decision to be a “professional.” meaning, you don’t drive around with herb in your car. you make someone else bring it to u! lol

“Well that didn’t work out to great. They just showed ED on channel 13 and he’s not even sure whats going on? He said as of yesterday he thought he has been doing great and playing good and then today?? He says he has no idea whats going on? I guess we will know soon enough I guess”

Trade deadline 1 week away and Colts have a bye this week
perfect time to go bargain hunting and still get someone who might contribute in a couple of weeks? maybe?
are there any LTs available?
How can you not love a team that does this?
They'll be fine.

Polian
Was this who Polian talking about when he said that someone on the defense was dogging it? Are we all just jumping to conclusions on the drug policy, or has that been confirmed?
Also, maybe we bring Adrian Grady back? Do we have an eye on someone coming in before the Trade deadline? Maybe a straight up trade between Garcon and….I dont know, Kris Jenkins? (Or whoever)
No.

Kris Jenkins?
One of the DTs in football for a good receiver? Not only that, but a 3-4 NOSE TACKLE?
I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation
hard to believe he was dogging it
but watching the game again, I can’t tell if he’s getting double-teamed or if he’s just giving up. he only had one tackle last night. and is it possible they really do want to bring Grady back?
by Louisville Soul Train on Oct 13, 2009 6:42 PM EDT up reply actions
If he was dogging it
He deserves to go the way of the Buffalo. This is his last and only chance to play pro football. If he is that lazy and that dumb, good riddance.
I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation
Garcon? For real?

By the way,
I’m not mad at Polian or Caldwell at all for taking a chance on Ed Johnson. It was a low risk/high reward decision at the time, and it just turned out on the negative side. I can’t blame Polian/Caldwell for this.

but if Adam said it….its HIGHLY likely that it happened

still, the sentiment is right
if Polian comes out and says “Listen, we decided we were just as good with upstanding citizens Dan Muir, Eric Foster and Mookie Johnson as we were with the oft-troubled Ed Johnson,” I won’t have a problem with it. there are plenty of reasons I could learn to be just fine with this

moreover
Clayton said it too, and he is normally spot on as well.
If he did get cut, I have a hard time believing it was his play… Normally a drastic improvement in run defense does not correllate with poor DT play.
I love your optimism,
but I don’t see it. Multiple sources are reporting it now.

Even if he was cut,
I think we will be fine. Mookie and Muir know the system much better than they did last year. Foster knows the system and has been productive. Moala should be coming along. We are in a much better situation than we were last year with or without Ed.
"Peyton Manning feels no pressure, he applies it"
Well
NO league channels are reporting it, not even the rumor. I’m fine with the decision if it was made, but I don’t believe it until I hear it from Polian’s mouth. Or at least see it reported on the Colts’ website.
I also wish I had time and motivation to blog at Speed Blue Nation
And notice
All of these stories are citing a “inside league source” that talked to PFT Hack Mike Florio. I think this might be a fault in a normally reliable source for all of these writers.

Maybe he slept with Irsay's daughter.
It has to be that or drugs. You don’t cut someone who was a starter for no reason. And if Tim Jennings is considered reliable when starters go down, I don’t see why we wouldn’t at least keep Ed as a backup. Sad times, but in Polian we trust….
I knew someone would bring up Jennings haha

I can't help it.
I was hungover Monday monring because of how much I had to drink after Jennings even found a way to screw up special teams. The one time we needed him to actually have a cushion, and he messed it up.
Yet
He made a great special teams tackle later in the game, intercepted a pass (no cushion on that play), failed on two interceptions later, but I don’t think he needs to be criticized as much as he is.

Huh?
Mookie isn’t injured. Where’d you hear that?

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: I'm pretty sure there was a whole lot of swearing when this gem was first produced.

Here's an official article Bullard:
Is Phil B a good enough source for you?

I refuse to believe it! Ed is not a DE
or i’ll just pout in a corner :(
"Peyton Manning feels no pressure, he applies it"
LOL.
Phil B made a pretty big mistake there.
What happened to his editors? They should have caught that one.

I don't know how he saw the waiver wire
Maybe that’s what this “league source” saw and told Florio. A mistake like this was made just two weeks ago. I’m trying to remember the player involved.
But read this quote, which is amazing to me:
The release likely means the end of his career and is a major blow for an unbeaten team playing its best defense. The Colts had allowed just 163 yards rushing in the past three games, the second-lowest yield over such a span in franchise history.

Yeah,
that is amazing.

That's just 54.3 yards a game
Is that better than the 06 Playoff D?

Hold on.
Let me check.

OK.
KC- 44 rush yards
Baltimore- 83 yards
NE- 93 yards
Super Bowl- 111 yards
Average- 82.75 yards/game
It’s much better than the Super Bowl D. Incredible.

WOW
Now I know that our offense has also been a lot better in these games as well, but still. That is amazing.

It will be a blow, but I don't see it being a "major" blow.
adjectives can be serious sometimes!
"Peyton Manning feels no pressure, he applies it"
The whole freaking world knows about this BS now.
Someone from the Colts org needs to man up and give us a reason. We’re bitching like little children over here!
Maybe he had a bad day, and needed a good laugh?
"Peyton Manning feels no pressure, he applies it"
While i’m sitting in the dark and crying like a little girl!
Damn you Polian!

We know it happened pretty much, now I want to know why...
"Peyton Manning feels no pressure, he applies it"
That will be awhile...
you probably have time to ask
"Peyton Manning feels no pressure, he applies it"
At least Phil B's article
Said that the Colts WOULD comment on any roster moves made today TODAY.

I don't understand...
how everyone on the planet can know the jig is up but the Colts STILL didn’t confirm it with NBC sports.
Whats the catch? Are they drafting up a properly phrased, PC statement basically saying “F You” to Ed?

The bright side
At least we will have lots to talk about during the bye week
"In a nation ruled by swine, all pigs are upwardly mobile—and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. We owe that to ourselves and our crippled self-image as something better than a nation of panicked sheep." - HST
That sound?
Is Dan Snyder’s Money going down the toilet
