Stampede Blue Radio: Week Five- Open Thread

Stampedeblueradio_medium

This is your open thread for tonight's Stampede Blue Radio, which will begin at 8pm Eastern to discuss how much of an idiot Ed Johnson is for getting cut one again by the Colts. After we rant about that, we'll actually talk about things that are good about this 5-0 team heading into a bye week.

8PM Eastern
Tonight!

maybe

not sure why they would release Ed but it could be due to his history and since no other teams would take a chance.

QB pressure from DT has never really been a huge problem

No one guy was just an automatic pocket collapser, but they’ve schemed to get pressure from the middle.

But Ed and Mookie are the first pair I can remember that really ate up that space and required multiple blockers. That’s as big a reason as any that the rest of the run defense has improved so much.

And we showed it.

right

if he was even close to it he’d be part of the rotation by now.

Remember, Muir took a full year to get good for us too. He didn’t make any impact at all for us last year.

it is either there is a trade coming or someone like muir since he has played it some. still would like an awnser on foster if he has been starting or just coming in in situations

by ANGELSFAITH on Oct 13, 2009 8:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Dont think he is a starter

starters have been Johnson and Johnson. Foster comes in from time to time and on 3rd downs or passing situations

I would prefer Muir

although he really plays the same position as Antonio so Foster is probably the best fit to take over now until Fili is ready.

Unless they don’t care about NT vs UT and just want two big bodies in the middle.

The issue with that theory is that Moala isn't close to ready

However, if he got demoted for Muir, it’s entirely possible he didn’t take it well. Until we learn it was drugs for real, maybe he did just give them shit after getting demoted.

I think at some point they’ll have a bad game, possibly against Schaub, and people will start to write them off, say they’re the same old Colts D.

And I say GOOD. Let them think that.

This D is going to win some games for us down the stretch against tough teams, and they’re going to round into form in the playoffs. And it’s going to be awesome.

Yeah, that's a bit of a stretch

The Giants D says hi.

And other teams have a game they’d be happy to throw out to change their stats too.

The truth about the Dolphins game is mostly just that they’re a damn good team and the circumstances (heat, Ed’s first game back, etc) made it seem worse than it would be if they played again this weekend.

But you can’t just erase it from the record.

That reminds me of a story my boss told me at work.

He was emailing pricing structures back and forth with a customer who is on the verge of agreeing to a multi-million dollar account. My boss emails him and tells me that his price request was a bit too low and he didn’t think he could do it for that amount. The customer emailed him back and said, “pussy.”

Honestly, I’ve never met that guy before, I don’t even know his name, but he instantly became my hero.

Damn

alot of things going through my head right now. Why did Johnson get cut? what warranted it? does this mean Moala is ready? Possible trade on the way?

I want answers

Doesn't look like they are forthcoming

I’m going to apply for a PR position with the Colts. Just so I can do nothing all day long.

not nothing

you have a TON of “day-to-day” and “no comment”s to hand out.

Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.

Im going to listen to the Polian show next week

through the internet and maybe try to call in on this matter

by metal_militia on Oct 13, 2009 9:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

That's a great idea

I always forget about his show. And the lack of archives available online or on iTunes is the FAIL.

again

thanks mike florio. I know we can listen to it live though. You just have to go to hank fm’s website at around 3 (at least for anyway since I live on the west coast) and you can tune in. Trying to get a call might be hard though since many people try.

I've got another update.

Apparently, there still is no update. Stay tuned for more.

reminds me of a skit - maybe SNL?

where it’s a constant:

- coming up… why giraffes are so tall
- but before then, we’ll explore the latest findings in outer space
- and then… the secret to guessing the gender of your unborn baby
- next we’ll cover the weather
- but before that…

you get the point

How can you not love a team that does this?

One of my favorite movies!!!!

"Do I believe in aliens?" Stephon Marbury asked. "I don't know, because I've never seen one. But I believe in Jesus because I saw him in the shower the other day."

I've noticed in the past

that they’ve taken a day or two to update the roster on-line

How can you not love a team that does this?

One thing's for sure..

he’s gone! I wish they cut him because he was playing poorly and we have better people :) (he obviously wasn’t and he wouldn’t go from hero to zero in one day)

Go Colts!

by fpacheco on Oct 13, 2009 10:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

wonder if this is the end of Ed...

he wasn’t picked up last year, but this is a new year and he showed something again on the field. There are teams with new needs and there are places always willing to take new chances on players.

/just sayin’

Go Colts!
