Maurice Jones-Drew rips the Jaguars
I was reading this morning about Maurice Jones-Drew ripping the Jaguars. This guy for years has been one of the best running backs I've seen in the NFL and the Jaguars used to have an incredible running back duo with him and Fred Taylor. He seems very dissatisfied with his team, so I thought I'd see what Colts fans thought about a what if scenario:
What if Maurice Jones-Drew became available. Would you as a Colts fan like to see the Colts pick him up? I know it is not probably the best time with the Colts having just aquired Donald Brown, whom I think is AWESOME!!! But the Colts running game still hasn't shown that great of a spark. I like Donald Brown and Mike Hart, but I don't tend to see the production out of Joseph Addai that I would expect for a starting running back. As a Colts fan, for years I've seen Maurice Jones-Drew rip the Colts for tons of yardage and I think it would be cool to see him wearing a Colts uniform.

Nope.
I’ll keep Addai and Brown (especially Brown!!!)

Turning down a MJD
Would be silly. That said, will we pay for him? Can we afford to? Is this realistically even possible? Most likely “no” on all fronts.

I don't think another RB is the answer to improving our run game
If a Pro Bowl LT came available, then we’re talking
How can you not love a team that does this?

With CJ at LT...
I would be happier with a right guard or tackle. The left side of the line is fine right now…it is the right.

You’re nuts if you wouldn’t take MJD over Addai.

do you think
MJD would do better than Addai with the same O-Line? I really don’t know.
He could probably gain more yards, but I can’t tell if those would be enough yards to turn our running game into a great running game…

He'd probably be more healthy
I think health is the biggest problem concerning Addai. Once he gets banged up, his production tails off (sometimes dramatically) and he misses games. I can’t say I’ve followed MJD’s career very closely, but he does seem more durable. Either way, I still think the O-line is a bigger concern at this point. Addai has been a pleasant surprise (at least to me) and with the addition of Brown spelling him, he has been more durable (so far). I would go O-line over RB at this point all day, but if I had to choose between the two RBs I would certainly take MJD.

So...
MJD is pissy because he feels the Jags are too quick to abandon the run.
And you think that he would be a good fit for the Colts… why?

The Colts RB arent the reason the running game isnt great
Its the O line…They are arent opening holes for the runners to run through. If you wanna start looking at Offensive replacements start with the line. Because thats were the problem is IMHO
The way our defense is set up, it puts me in situations where I'm one-on-one in making tackles on running backs. When I go into it, I think I am going to win. It really doesn't matter the size, height, weight, whatever. I'm not afraid of putting my body in there." - Bob Sanders

I don't want any player who goes public with his hostile feelings.

He's a great back
And he’d definitely be a talent upgrade on what we’ve got. But I don’t really want him playing for the Colts and I don’t think he’d make a huge difference to the side.
