Hypothetical Twist: What is Peyton worth?
This is blasphemous to discuss, but nonetheless interesting.
Just say the Colts were open to trade offers for Manning (there's a better chance JaMarcus Russell becomes a HOF, but anyway), what would a package for him be.
Here's mine:
Peyton to Denver
Orton, Clady, 1st & 2nd in 2010(chicago's st), 1st in 2011.
that's probably not even enough. Don't go crazy (like no Manning for Ngata, Reed, Suggs, Rice, Flacco) deals. Just reasonable trades that in Madden would be accepted (becuase Polian probably not even take that Raven package).

First round picks for 10 years
And the first born child of every coach on the team Peyton would be going to.

maybe 15
1st round pick for every year he has played in the league
1st round pick for every year he continues to play in the league
2nd round pick for the next 10 years after he retires
Maybe after that you would have a 10% chance of recovering from flushing your franchise down the toilet.

NO WAY and it is blasphemous lol
but i would go to the vikings and say Adrian peterson, allen, and a 2nd, and 5th and 6th round pick at least ( i thought about the 1st round pick instiad of the 6th)
something better to think about manning is going to be do a new contract very soon what price do u think he will get?? i say around 6 years and 123 mill. (so just over 20 mil. per year) not sure what he gets now so mabye that isn’t realistic but yea anyway i think he will get a big pay day and be with us for a long time

umm i would like if anyone knows to know what his last contract was??
but did some math and i think im off by some i think if it is a 6 year contract it will be more like 105 mil.

But this deal is crazy
Dont go crazy (like no Manning for Ngata, Reed, Suggs, Rice, Flacco) deals
Its crazy because not even that is enough. The ravens should thrown in their first next years first, 2nd. 3rd, and 4th round selections on top of that…. and even then im not sure its enough

haha i was wondering why u did that lol
yea it is true i dont know that that is even enough it just goes to show just how important he is to are team and how good of a player he is

Through many tears at the idea, I have my trade package.
Manning and Addai to Pittsburgh for…
Rothlisberger
Mendenhall
Harrison
2010 1st and 2nd round picks
2011 1st round pick

To the Saints for
Grant, Smith, Colston, Sharper, Bush, and Brees and 1st round picks in 2010 and 2011 plus a 2nd round pick in 2012. Still not enough though. It’d never happen. More likely that Ryan Leaf makes a comeback to the NFL next season and guides the Rams to the playoffs.

Not only can I not think of a fair trade for Peyton
I’m having a hard time coming up with any other professional athlete who is as consistently awesome as Peyton is every year. I could make a case for Albert Pujols but after that I’ve got nothing.
Maybe every other team’s first-round pick every year for a decade, plus first chance for me personally to kick you personally in the beanbag for even suggesting it.
Just kidding. I would rather use a bat.

Well, hypothetically, what’s the market for a Hall of Fame quarterback who has been supremely durable and is in the prime of his career? I’m thinking you have to rule out every team with a good young/prime quarterback (Steelers, Chargers, Giants, Saints, Broncos, Bears, Falcons, Ravens, Patriots, Jets, Cowboys, Texans, Seahawks, Packers, Bengals, Eagles, Lions) because trading for Manning means gutting the franchise. You’d have to give the Colts so many draft picks and valuable players that it’s almost inconceivable. Also, Polian wouldn’t trade him in the division, or even the conference, so that rules out any AFC team (Bills, Dolphins, Raiders, Chiefs, Browns, Titans, Jaguars)
So, that leaves us with the Panthers, Redskins, Rams, 49ers, Bucs, Vikings, and Cardinals. Out of that group, none of the teams have the combination of owner crazy enough to do it, lots of high draft picks, and plenty of good players to trade in exchange.
Simply put, even if the Colts wanted to, there’s nowhere they could send Manning without him kicking their ass on a fairly regular basis, and get enough in return to justify it.

Madden trades are 3-1 at most.
There is no way to get fair value. I trade him off in Madden all the time (when he’s 38) and I always get the first pick in the first three rounds, and still feel gyped whe he plays one more year and them retires.

He's worth an entire franchise.
You’d have to do something like trade him for the Chicago Cubs.

The Cubs? Really?
Couldn’t you just egg my house instead?

Manning to the Falcons
Ryan to the Colts. Falcons send 1st and 3rd rounder to Oakland, Oakland send Nnamdi Asomugha to the Colts. Colts send Marlin Jackson to the Raiders.
Seriously, Peyton’s worth an entire franchise. I can’t even conceive of a serious deal being made for him.

That's an easy one...
Peyton Manning for the NFC North, the ghost of Vince Lombardi, and Mike Ditka’s collection of sweaters circa 1985
by DClark#44 on Oct 16, 2009 5:28 PM EDT via mobile reply actions 0 recs
And the trading team...
would have to forfeit all games against the Colts for the next 4 seasons.

I was actuallly thinking of this the other day.
How ironic. I think he have to get traded to a team with plenty franchise players and then a few first round picks.
Don't question my fandominium.

Cardinals
I wouldn’t even want to try to dream up a package, but I want to see Fitz and the rest of their receiving core catching passes from Peyton. As should any football fan.
