Saints are smokin' hot, but the Giants seem to be hanging in there despite themselves. The Ravens look just awful. Enjoy this open thread.

Is it just me

or does anyone else think the Titans are gonna pull an upset against the Pats?

The way our defense is set up, it puts me in situations where I'm one-on-one in making tackles on running backs. When I go into it, I think I am going to win. It really doesn't matter the size, height, weight, whatever. I'm not afraid of putting my body in there." - Bob Sanders

Remember that the Onion is a Wisconsin paper.
“I just want to apologize to our viewers. Had the Favre-Packers connection dawned on us sooner, fans could have enjoyed the same quality sports journalism they have come to expect from ESPN: driving storylines into the ground and exploiting every one of their subplots to the point of nausea.”

and of course:

“My God, we could have used ESPN.com to really beat into the heads of America that Brett Favre still plays the game with childlike exuberance. And he’s turning 40! We could have done so much with that, like mention it every 10 seconds.”

“I’ve never seen them go that long without totally screwing up,” said Walker, who believed the first down may have even slightly changed the game’s momentum. “I was certain that with a yard to go they would send five receivers deep and [quarterback] JaMarcus [Russell] would chuck the ball to one of the Giants’ defensive backs.”

Continued Walker, “This will surely go down as the highlight of the Raiders’ season.”

I'm getting caught up on some podcasts

and in the NFL preview Adam Carolla did with (massive tool) Kevin Hench they were talking about fat coaches and that if he was commission he wouldn’t allow fat coaches for warm weather teams as a safety measure. He added that he thinks Del Rio still has a job because he looks good on the sidelines.

So the Saints are starting to look like

the freaking Pats of 2007..running up the damn score

The way our defense is set up, it puts me in situations where I'm one-on-one in making tackles on running backs. When I go into it, I think I am going to win. It really doesn't matter the size, height, weight, whatever. I'm not afraid of putting my body in there." - Bob Sanders

Because of course they’re being held. The refs in that game and the Saints game aren’t calling anything against the home teams.
