Derrick Mason!

First Down Baltimore

The way our defense is set up, it puts me in situations where I'm one-on-one in making tackles on running backs. When I go into it, I think I am going to win. It really doesn't matter the size, height, weight, whatever. I'm not afraid of putting my body in there." - Bob Sanders

Great play

Keep showing Favre EVERY PLAY, CBS.

This is awful coverage of what is turning out to be an amazing game.

I’ll admit that I thought it was over long ago.

What an annoying slate of 1:00 games.

Bad play and bad coaching galore, topped off by a great game from Favre and the 2nd worst announcer Favre Love of the year just to make it all that much better. And the Giants didn’t bother to show up.

It has been kind of a shitty couple of weeks for quality play. Lots of mistakes league-wide.

Hopefully this Pats-Titans game will be brutal and pain-filled for both sides. That’d cheer me up.

I hate that.

by willyduer on Oct 18, 2009 4:25 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yeah

only a few markets do that.

Including in the bay area. So for years when both teams sucked, the entire bay area would get only 2 games, both featuring their two crap teams, and never any of the good national broadcasts. It was football hell.

Awful call in the Jets game

and for some reason Ryan accepts it to give the Bills another chance at 3rd down, which is still easily in FG range.

Don’t quite understand that.

Of course, then the Bills false start, so now it’s 3rd and 18.

OK, here's a perfect example of the uselessness of Dierdorf:

He was so busy sucking off Brett Favre that he never once mentioned the relatively minor detail that pro bowl corner Winfield was out of the game for the Vikings.

Maybe, just maybe, that had a tiny little bit to do with why the Ravens were able to start moving up and down the field?

Winfield left in the 2nd Quarter with a foot injury and they didn’t even bother to bring it up. Incredible.

Phil Simms can't tell who the players are when they're in different colors

Apparently he memorizes their faces, which he can see from the booth, rather than their numbers, which are the same regardless of color.

They choked in the last part of the game.

They turned the ball over on 2 or 3 straight possessions. If the Browns had any semblance of an offense, they would have caught up and probably beat the Steelers, and I’m being completely serious. It was an ugly 3rd and 4th quarter like most of them seem to be for the Steelers.

Nah

Fisher’s fine. This isn’t on him.

They lost their dominant lineman, which changes everything, plus their LBs are aging and their DBs are hurt and/or terrible.

Them dropping off was an obvious pick.

Of course, I picked a drop to 8-8, not 0-6. This is a bit extreme. Hard to pin it on Fisher though.

NCIS LA? Really?

I’ve had just about enough with the procedural evidence/CSI shows. First CSI. That succeeds, so they rip it off to make NCIS. Then they spawn CSI Miami and CSI NY. Now NCIS LA? That’s FIVE of the EXACT SAME SHOW!

Except NCIS is poorly written and poorly acted. CBS is obviously out of ideas.

Pfft

NCIS, the regular version at least, is far better than any of the CSI’s.

What is it with the Pats and snow?

Last year in this weather they rolled up some absurd point total on the Cards too.

Snow is overrated in terms of its affect on the game, passing especially – but still. The weather just really exaggerates the Pats edge in preparation over these other bad teams.

Exactly why I hate the Pat's

Wheres the article from last week about the New England sports writer asking why “Peyton was throwing the ball in the 4th q to pick up the 300 yards”, like the Colts should have been ashamed of themselves.
Yet, here;s New England throwing on every down and calling timeouts when they were up 38-0 before the half. Typical.

its not because its Tom Brady

Its because the Titans pass defense does not exist. It would be easier to have world peace than to have the titans defend some friggin passes…Put Derek Anderson, David Carr, Russell, T-Jax…ANYONE and they would have at least 3TD passes

Brady isn't back

Tennessee just played probably the worst quarter of defensive football in NFL History. Nobody was even near Brady and the receveivers were so wide open Jamarcus Russel could have had 5 Touchdowns. Tennessee looks totally uninspired. They were against us.
