Barrett Ruud

I wanted to ask this in a post, since there are a million comments on that game thread. Is this talk for Ruud legit? I have not seen info for it anywhere else. That would be really sweet if they could get it done. The guy is a beast. Also, I think overall he is even better than Gary B. That would make this defense pretty scary. With this years draft class being thin, and the great OTs going early, he warrants a 32nd overall pick. Maybe it would just take a 2nd, but i doubt it. Ruud would be better than anyone else they would get at 32, and is still very young. I for one, would love for this to happen. Ruud FTW

I'm not thaaat high

on Ruud, and I’m not high on trading for him either…I think we should invest in our o-line. Our LBs are fine, they all play with enthusiasm and we should let them prove they’re better than everybody thinks they are… If it’s a 2nd rounder or less, then I might like the idea, specially if you look back at our previous 2nd rounders haha. Another factor is if we are in condition of being able to sign him after the season, and if that signing would affect our chances of re-signing Bethea or another proven, special Colts player.

Go Colts!

There might not be a salary cap next year

I dont see why they wouldnt do this even if there is. Losing Ed Johnson might hurt the Colts a little, you add someone like this and the Colts have another huge difference maker on D. Ruud would make them really good at stopping the run. 136 tackles last year, and have you watched him play? That guy plays like a mad man. This gives them a chance to make the defense a huge asset as well, something Brady has always had. This Colts team is the best we have seen in a while so far, why not increase the chances of winning a Super Bowl in a year when they already look like the best team. Chances like this dont come often, you never know who will improve next year, so i say take advantage of what this season could bring.

i know what you mean. Ruud is a beast and if we get him everyone else in the AFC might as well lay down. but i also think a bruising type back(michael bush..6’1" 245) would make more sense for our team, or another LT to back up CJ.

What position is he going to play?

He plays MLB in Tampa, so who’ll be moving, him or Brackett?

I don't think we'll

move our team captain…Besides, he’s bigger than our tipical Mike, who needs to excel in coverage in our system so…He’d bench Session or Hagler. I’d bet on Hagler. Speaking about LBs, where has Phillip Wheeler been? Wasn’t he supposed to be about an inch close to a starter?

5-0 COLTS? Great!
Jaguars and Texans being 3 games behing? Awesome!
0-6 Titans? Priceless..

Wheeler

He had the chance to win the job in preseason but just flat out didn’t perform well enough to keep it. Hagler had more experience, so he kept his job.

Yeah

but he hasn’t played much as a backup

5-0 COLTS? Great!
Jaguars and Texans being 3 games behind? Awesome!
0-6 Titans? Priceless..

Session, Brackett, Ruud

maybe it will happen

usually when it is a big rumor like the cribbs one then it dont happen, but being the other way around it might as well be true and we might see this happen , not much buzz about it seems the colts way of doing business, i hope im right :)
