Bye Week Afternoon Games- Open Thread #2

The Titans are just... just terrible. Tom Brady has 5 TDs in the first half, in the SNOW, against the Titans pass defense. Just awful. AWFUL!

In New York, Trent Edwards was knocked out of the game between the Jets and Bills.

The way our defense is set up, it puts me in situations where I'm one-on-one in making tackles on running backs. When I go into it, I think I am going to win. It really doesn't matter the size, height, weight, whatever. I'm not afraid of putting my body in there." - Bob Sanders

It's like that South Park episode "Ass-pen"

When the boys go to that ski resort and that hot shot world class a-hole skiier keeps challenging and picking on stan to race him, even though stan has never ski’d before. It’s almost like that the Titans have actually played football before, even though it seems otherwise, and they are just awful.

The Patriots are still the scumbags from ’07 with the same d-bag quarterback and the same POS coach. Wait to make a “statement” by showing up what is now obviously the worst team in football.

best stats for me so far

NE was up by 38 at the end of the half with 1:04 left, and drove downfield in 10 plays to score again. 10 plays! It’s not like the Titans fucked up once and NE capitalized, they actually had a methodical, 10-play, one-minute-drill scoring drive when up 38-0

And then came out gunning to start the 2nd half.

I swear, If Haynesworth flies north to stomp Brady’s face just out of orneriness, would anyone bother to flag him?

Tenn goes for 4th and 10 from the NE 17 (since a FG is pointless and Fisher doesn’t care about avoiding a shutout). Collins fumbles, loses 22 yards. Pats ball at the 39. This might be their worst field position all game.

Manning still dominates him in stats.

Manning 133-181 (73.5%) 1645 yards (Total through 5 Games) 12 TDs 4 Ints. 114.1 Passer Rating

Brady 156/241 (64.7%) 1724 yards (Total through 6 Games) 12 TDs 2 ints. 99.0 QB Rating
Brees passed Peyton in a couple categories though.
He has 13 TDs through 5 games. And has a 119.0 Passer Rating.

Manning gets the Rams next week though. :)

When they beat a team

with starting DBs and not third stringers in and they aren’t playing an utterly pathetic excuse of an offense, aside from Chris Johnson, than you can tell me the debate is back on.

Even with this game, Manning still dominates Brady in stats. Sure Brady has 12 TDs and so does Manning. Yet, Brady is also on pace to set an NFL Record for attempts in a season. They’re throwing it over 40 times a game. Easy to put up big stats when you throw it that much. Manning is throwing it like 36 times a game. The only amazing thing is that Brady only has 2 ints. with as many attempts as he has. Though most have been short passes, so…

The Pats are not back. They’ll crush the Bucs too. But Peyton will carve up their DBs and Freeney and Mathis will feast on Brady. He’s not going to have 8 seconds to throw the ball against us. Also, his receivers won’t be wide open every play either.
