Possible scenario...

I know this is looking way in the future....but I tend to do that.  I am always looking forward to the draft and what the Colts may do.  Since (I believe) Ruud is in the last year of his contract and he fits Coyers scheme better...I am thinking the Colts pick Ruud up as a FA and then draft OT in the first round.  This would kill two birds very quickly.  Any thoughts on this?  Am I crazy...?

They might not be able to if the cap comes off and they do well the rest of the year

I forget what exactly the restrictions on the top teams are in free agency.

Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.

I think it's something like

the top third of teams can’t sign any free agents unless they lose one of similar value. I could be wrong though.

Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

Man, I need a life...

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: The national anthem of Greece has 158 verses. Wonder how long it would take to sing that before a game.

i think it is a little crazy but if it is true and they were interested in ruud

then it is possible but, i dont think it happens because the colts tend to try and stay away from FA and focus on getting better through the draft.

I thought

that some players who would normally be UFA’s will actually be under some restrictions in an uncapped year. There will also be rules in an uncapped season for teams who made the playoffs……and their ability to sign free agents………

Just off the top of my head, I could be completely wrong.

Basically the better season you have the more restrictions you will have

in signing free agents from other teams. I understand the thinking behind it in trying to keep the reach from getting even richer. The teams that will really benefit from it are the teams that have owners with deep pockets but whose teams aren’t very good.

thats why...

Checketts group wants to buy the rams, is a buy cheap invest to gain value kind of deal if 2010 will be uncap.

Wow...

I did not know all of these restrictions would be in place…I just want Ruud LOL!!!

why next year FA are not performing like you would expect them to?
For all practical purposes, free agency will not have any teeth in 2010 and close to 200 players hoping to hit a big pay day will have to wait at least a year and risk injury.

Maybe thats the answer why so many teams with starters that will be FA are looking like quiters (Titans players comes to mind). It will be intresting to know NFL analysts opinion in this theory.
