An Even Harder Quiz........
After the fun that we had with the Sporcle quizzes last week, I immediately thought that we should have a Colts one. The one that Colts Homer linked to, which was a quiz of the Colts' 1st round draft picks since 1998, was a great start, but I thought it was way too easy and short (ignore the part where I forgot about the 2000 1st round pick). So, I decided to build upon that. For the past week (nothing to do during 2 bye weeks), I have been working on and off on a quiz for every single Colts draft pick of the Peyton/Polian era. That would be from 1998-2009 for those unable to figure it out. Well, I've now finished it. Take the quiz here, if you so desire.
There are 96 draft choices in total. For the record, I got around 56 correct when I tested the quiz. The obscurity of many of these names should give even the most knowledgeable Colts/draft fan a serious challenge.
Good luck! I wonder which SB user will do the best........

everyone from the 2006-2009 drafts, got all 1st/2nd round picks, didn’t miss anyone currently on the roster (though one guy was close).

I missed some (Tripplett, Doss, Howard, Giordano, Diem) that were serious brain farts… other than that, I’m fairly pleased with the results.

Howard was throwing me since he was listed as a LB, but I got him
Gio I missed. Tripplett I almost did just because I couldn’t get the right combination of double letters in his name.

Howard must have been an LB coming
out of college. Blame PFR :-)

I'm pretty sure he wasn't
he was expected to end up as a 3-4 OLB though (and last I heard he was one in Dallas).

oops, no that was CuJo that signed with the Cowboys
and he’s currently on the depth chart as an ILB

Odd.....
Howard’s player page on PFR lists him as a DE, while the PFR Colts’ draft page lists him as an LB. I’ll change it.

I confess I can't take this quiz.
My score would be pitifully low, I’m terrible at remembering names. Brain cells have a lot of mileage on them.

God I love Sporcle. Great quiz, though I would suggest cutting the time in half. I think you’ll either know many of these or you won’t, but the extra time won’t help.

I gave up with 6 minutes left
maybe cut the time to 12 minutes?

I missed some embarrassing ones (LB, 2006, R3), (WR, 2007, R5), (DB, 2001, R2), but I did pretty well.

Not my finest effort. Like 10 guys instantly that I saw and thought “How did I forget?” And also, I couldn’t spell Rayner right for some reason.

Ah yes,
the infamous kickoff specialist. I was surprised when I saw on PFR that we drafted him.

Also
It amazes me how many solid players the Colts have had over the decade that were undrafted guys, some I didn’t even realize were undrafted

It must be a browser problem.

12 minutes was perfect for me
Most Sporcles I either know in the first 3 minutes, or don’t have a prayer, but in this one I was actually—after a couple blank minutes—filling in correct names til the last second. (I was surprisingly poor on the periodic table—25 years since my last college chem class has taken a toll)
Only a 53 on this one, which I thought was pretty good until I saw the stats. Embarrassed by some I missed: Mathis (I thought he came in from someone else in preseason like Brock. d’oh!), Larry Triplett whom I used to watch in college and loved when we picked him up, Jake Scott, Hagler, Giordano, Hughes, Justice… I hang my head in shame.
Most obscure guys I got (statistically speaking): Scuillo, Gandy, McKinney (another old favorite)
Cannot believe somebody got Rob Renes. I’ll have to Google him because I have no idea who the hell he is. David Pugh? Recognize the name. Corey Terry? No idea…..
GREAT QUIZ
I hate whoever here started this Sporcle thing, hate them with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns. I have a pretty non-addictive personality, except when it comes to trivia.
LovinBlue, did you go to B-school at Berkeley? If so, did you participate in the Pac-10 Challenge for Charity? It was held in Palo Alto in 98 when I went for the MBA olympics. In “Jeopardy” it was “Bob vs Cal” and “Bob vs UCLA.” I hate Sporcle, someone free me from this terrible disease! (mainly because I have work to do)
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

I don't feel too bad anymore
After googling Rob Renes, who had a spinal injury in his first training camp and never played after that (poor guy)
David Pugh, and Corey Terry (who never played for us bit did manage 15 games for Jax and NO) over two years.
Raymond Walls? He actually had a 6-year career, just not with us. 4 games with us (with an interception!), and then 37 with CLE, BAL, and AZ over the years. Mystifying.
Cory Gaines… the enormity of the obscurity is amazing. And still I am kicking myself for not recalling at least 20 more.
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

I feel retarded...
Some of the obvious ones i missed were: Keyunta Dawson, T.J. Rushing, Freddie Keiaho, Cato June, Hunter Smith, and Jim Sorgi (I dont think of him as a player, more as the worlds luckiest fan. The guy gets paid to cheer the colts, chill with Peyton, play catch with clark… lucky bastard)
