Joseph Addai- the numbers say he's a basher.
Indy Star article.
Here's a link to an item from the Indy Star, it's mainly about the whole Jeff Fisher thing. But that's not why I'm posting it, down at the bottom is a very interesting stat about our Joseph Addai. I was amazed at this.
Some thoughts about this Sundays game, It will be a match up between 2 active streaks, the Colts have the longest active reg. season winning streak, the Rams have the longest active losing streak going.
The last time we played the Rams at the Dome was when Peyton and Jeff had their little on camera argument, who can forget that? It was better than Desperate Housewives, according to Peyton. We also came back from a huge deficit it win the game.
Now here's a quote from Marc Bulger about Sunday's game: "We have to play perfect to win this game"
I'm pretty sure our Colts will see that that doesn't happen. GO COLTS!

It must be Christmas...
I’m getting one of my wishes: converting on 3rd and short. Thank you Santa.
Interesting numbers for Addai, I never would have guessed he was so efficient.
Thanks for posting!

it's an example of a guy being blamed for not looking the part, despite results
when you think 3rd and short conversions you think a big, straight ahead runner, but if you are good enough at it dancing a bit for a hole and falling forward works too.
Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.

Very interesting indeed
Too bad he couldn’t do it when it really mattered last year in the San Diego playoff game.

it wasn't all his fault
but yeah, he should’ve done it agaisnt the Chargers

He didn't get the call
It was a naked pass play and Gijon blew the block. Addai was already running his route in the flat.
Say what you will, but that play wasn’t his failure.
by slash196 on Oct 22, 2009 4:44 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
maybe they are referring to the
2nd and 3 play before the gijon failure.
by SpazMo on Oct 22, 2009 5:10 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I thought they were referring to
that play Polian talked about where he could have barreled for a first down, but instead went out of bounds 1 yard short, then we failed on 3rd and 4th and 1.

Lots of bad plays to choose
from in that game, starting with every Scifers punt.

Why are we even discussing that hideous game again?
It’s over and done. This year we’ll ice the game, no more failures on 3rd and 1. I’m feeling it.

You tell 'em.
It’s in the past…we should only be concerned with the upcoming game. The fact that we are somewhat better than last year should be appreciated…dammit! =-)

As well as a possible lack of confidence in the run game based on
the 2nd and 3 plays before the Gijon failure.
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

I'm for
Any article that doesn’t bash Addai. I think he and a couple of other Colts get an undeserved bad rap.

That's why I wanted to post that story.
Sometimes during games we don’t always see things clearly, but numbers don’t lie. Addai is important to this team. And anybody who doesn’t see that is just wrong.

I'm glad you like it. I got excited about Addai, he's so maligned sometimes,
But you can’t argue with the numbers!

Despite your love of fiveheads, this was a good topic. Guys who get abandoned by the fans should get props when they prove em wrong.

Definitely agree with you.
I was way too hard on Joe last season, I’m happy to learn that his health was part of the reason (I know, the OLine too).

Our offense it set up to deal with that.
We’ll run it just enough. Plus I think it will get better, Donald Brown will show what he’s made of. And Addai will BASH it thru. You’ll see.

Our running game could be described
as effective right now. Effective at setting up the play action, effective at getting short yardage….etc. Not great, dominant, or good. Just effective.

I agree.
And right now, we really don’t need them to be dominant. By the time the playoffs roll around, I expect we’ll have to get better. But I believe we haven’t seen the best of Donald Touchdown Brown yet.

Yup, but there will be times, maybe not today maybe not tomorrow, but some day
when we will need more.
I think these guys (OL and RBs) can deliver. They did in Balt in 06 and I never would have expected it. Some personnel change, but not too much.
Hopefully, a D’s pathological fear of Manning will open things up more. Plus a few “cheap” 15-yard draws to improve the average stats. And when they start crowding to stop the run… bwa-ha-ha-ha!
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

I don't worry one iota about the running game......
as long as it’s there when it’s needed. Our backs being somewhat underused at this point in the season is only a big plus for the second half. There will be a point when the pass defense dictates the use of the running game, and our backs will be relatively fresh. I look for both of them to have a breakout game at some point.
