Week 7: Thursday Injury Report
Kelvin Hayden remained at practice, No one that missed practice yesterday (Anthony Gonzalez, Marlin Jackson, Adam Vinatieri, Jamey Richard, Tim Jennings) returned today, Chad Simpson is now sick along with Richard and the Colts are being creative about Bob Sanders' listing.

Now what is that suppose to mean? The Colts seem to be acknowledging that Bob has a knee issue, but are also claiming he was not held out for injury reasons. To me is seems like they are intentionally making it unclear where Bob's knee is at after his first full day of practice.

This is a non-story
they are putting Bob on his normal practice rotation, which, if you’ll remember, meant wednesdays on, thursdays off, fridays on. The Colts have said (try IFR, i guess) that Sanders will focus on other areas on thursdays, i’m guessing that means, "hey, bob, we run a completely different system now, why don’t you sit in the film room for 12 hours’.

but if it was his normal practice situation with no attempts at obfuscation
there wouldn’t be a “/knee” in there.

and he really hasn't had time for film when the last 6 months he was paid millions to rehab and learn the defensive changes
I think it’s most likely that it’s a normal schedule, but the Colts are trying to attach some doubt on his status to either mess with the Rams or cover their own asses from the league if Sanders isn’t able to go.

So I figure I give her her presents, take her out to a nice early dinner, and then settle in by 7 oclock Central European for a midwest asswhooping.
The key is that I have to get back home by 7 without ever mentioning football or I’m in deep trouble. I guess we’ll see if I can pull it off.

I don’t think it’s really anything other than alternating practice with a day to rest. Remember Bob goes at it pretty hard even in practice. I really don’t know how ready he will be this week and I don’t care. I just want to continue to see progress, and I expect there to be some set backs in the next couple of weeks (but hopefully nothing too serious). It’s when guys come back too soon that they tend to make the problem worse, or they pull a hamstring our tear up an ankle. I just plan to keep my fingers crossed that he will be 100% by the play-offs.

On a Colts note
I wanted to see how far off base i am with reality here. I mentioned this in a post earlier this week.
With the Redskins in shambles, and Dan Snyder being an Idiot, what would everyone here think about a situation where we were able to get a certain No. 47 from that team to add to our Tight End corps(not saying that it needs a lot of help, but our current 47 isn’t an all-pro exactly). Would that be something you would be interested in seeing. Does anyone even know who I’m talking about?

that one came to mind as a good one and most probably but
i had an intriguing thought gonzo comes back i see collie as a possible backup at TE as well at times also polian made a comment that made me think we could see some 2 TE packages when gonzo comes back and i think collie fits the package of a TE even if he isn’t listed as one but thats me and i think that would make us even more dinamic but would only bee like 5 times a game proabably

on the subject of the article and how they are listing saunders it doesn’t worry me and i believe he will play. they are telling us that he is not being held out cause of injury. in other words he could have practiced but after finally getting a full day off practice they felt that it would be good to give him some rest it is part of working him in. dont want to do it to fast. i believe he was likely a little sore as his hamstring or nee is not use to the work but i think it would be ok

i think the most probablyle might be one of those to cause it wouldn’t effect the divisions negativly and i think out of the two it would be most likely the 49ers as far as economy as the bay area i guess isn’t doing so well which is why one of the baseball franchises are moving out as well or trying to.

OK, let's say the Jags did move to LA.
If I was Goodell/the owners, this is what would be the new realignment:
AFC West:
LA Jaguars
Denver Broncos
San Diego Chargers
Oakland Raiders
AFC North:
Indianapolis Colts
Cincinnati Bengals
Cleveland Browns
Pittsburgh Steelers
AFC South
Miami Dolphins
Houston Texans
Tennessee Titans
Kansas City Chiefs
AFC East
New England Patriots
New York Jets
Buffalo Bills
Baltimore Ravens
There we go. This is based on geography, as it should be. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

For the most part. About the best you can do within the conference framework. KC is farther north than Indy though, so I don’t know how much sense that makes. But that new AFC North would be awesome for everyone involved.

Even if the Jags didn't move, it'd make more sense than what we got now.
You’d just have to swap KC and the Jags. Everything else would be logical.

don't know if anyone is still reading this thread, but
I was listening to the dan patriot, er, patrick show right now, and tony dungy is/was on. He was talking about the Bob Sanders istuation, not a good answer, if you’re someone like me..
Dan Patrick, "but when you look at bob sanders, arent you looking at him and just saying, ‘we want him ready for the post season, … is that what his career has evolved or devolved into?’
Tony Dungy, ‘I think it is, from the Colts perspective, you want him to play enough games to be ready for the post season, but all you really want is him in there for the playoffs’.
If only we had 52 other players that were so important to playoff success… …….

Chill out
Bob generally always takes rest before he plays a game. The injury is rest related. They put the word “knee” in there because that is what injury he previously had. They are basically saying he is resting his knee after his full full workout. Caldwell said there’s no change. Quit making a mountain out of a mole hill.
