Colts trade Sanders for Consistant Linebacker?
Here's a thought, why dont the Colts trade Bob Sanders to get a powerhouse Linebacker? Someone consistent and that we can depend on. Lets face it, Bob's Sanders career is on the way down. He was great for our team, did some incredible things, and i mean come on, who doesn't LOVE to watch Bob play, but seriously, Bullitt is having ANOTHER pro-bowl caliber year. He's reliable, and I think somehow, Bullitt and Sanders got their genes mixed somehow, because he plays JUST LIKE BOB, there's just ONE difference, he PLAYS!!!! Any Thoughts???

We already have 3 fantastic starting linebackers and a couple capable backups. I prefer Bobzilla.

I'll wait
to see if Bob can make it thru the season, playoffs, and super bowl before I submit on this.

If San Fran wanted to trade Patrick Willis straight up for Bob I’d do it for sure.

That would be theft
I would definitely take that and run.

Jon Beason from Carolina?
Picked off Manning as a rookie when we faced them and impressed me all game.
But good as 21 is, I doubt he’s actually tradable for much because of his injury past. Ricky for any GM to take. Fine with me; I love him.
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

Unless the LB
is Derrick Brooks circa 1999-2002, then NO.

stupid, stupid, stupid
why in the hell is everyone ready to give up on the one player that single handedly helped this defense get to a superbowl? I mean really…give me a break.

NO WAY
This is just insane. Be a little grateful and show some respect.
First of all we have 3 consistent linebackers. Just because they havent been to the Pro Bowl or have big names doesn’t mean they ain’t good. Brackett is one of the keys of our defense, Session is getting better, together with the rest of the guys.
Second, even when Bullitt is playing fantastic, it doesn’t mean he is playing just like Bob Sanders. Jeez, Bobzilla’s support againts the run is unique, I would start him when he returns without a doubt. Having you trading him for a linebacker (I don’t know who you were thinking of) and saying his career is going down, is just not right.

Dear God, how old are some of you?
Jeez. He’s a top 4 or 5 safety. Relax because he’s missed a bunch of games. We’ve already invested in him and would take a decent sized cap hit on his bonuses. Bullit is and will never be a top 20 safety…he doesn’t have the same speed. Bullit is good but Bob is great. Imagine if Peyton Manning could only play in 55% of his games and as a replacement you had…let’s say, Tony Romo. When Peyton was healthy would you say, “keep Tony in because Peyton’s hurt too much”?
by Merr on Oct 23, 2009 7:34 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I think Bullit
is a top 20 safety. Name 20 better than him and I’ll reconsider.
by furrycolt on Oct 24, 2009 2:48 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
when in doubt, calling people youngins
will bolster your argument.
I’m 3 years old. What does that have to do with the fact that everyone on the planet other than Bob Sanders’ fans knows that Melvin Bullitt is, in fact, a top 20 safety? Don’t take our word for it, go out, you’re old enough, ask teh exp4rts that determine such things!

First...
If the Colts trade Bob because they think he’s washed up, who is going to take him?
Personally, I like what we have. Give Bob a chance here. Let Bob come back and play football and see what happens. Caldwell has proven he will chop off the useless limbs. If he starts Bob it’s because Bob is better. Personally, I’m getting pretty tired of the criticism. There are worse positions than safety to pick on on this team. The OL stinks, for instance. If Peyton couldn’t throw 50 yards off of a wrist flick the Colts would be 0-5.

How about..
The Colts trade Bob the safety for Bob the WLB and keep him sporting the blue 21. Not gonna happen, but is more realistic than trading him due to injury history.
by GonzoBlue on Oct 24, 2009 4:35 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
we already have Bob the WLB
his name is Clint Session. Hits every bit as hard, if not harder, and has the ass to handle it.
by SpazMo on Oct 24, 2009 6:14 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Exactly
My point was more to the fact that he isn’t going anywhere via trade. Unless Oakland calls!!

Oh lets not go there...
my heart would break if he ended up there…or Washington…or Dallas…or Detroit…

i wouldnt worry about him coming back to kill us, and you know al davis would give us like 15 first round picks and some awesome members only jackets just for his name.

I would hate for him to end up in “the 5th ring of hell” – he deserves better.
