Pro Bowl Voting
Pro Bowl Ballot
Here's the link for voting on the Pro Bowl. Most people either love the Pro Bowl, or they hate it. I always enjoy it, because it's the last time I'll get to see Peyton play football for a long time. This year the game will played in Florida, the week before the SuperBowl. Which means if your favorite player gets to the Big Game, he won't be at the Pro Bowl. I don't like the change of venue or time. So, go vote for your favorite players, and hope they won't be there, because they'll be too busy preparing for the SuperBowl!
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Lets get those votes in and then re-vote and then continue to re-vote everyday
Lets not forget the obvious ones who truly are deserving:
Peyton, Reggie, CLARK, Saturday, Freeney, Mathis, Bethea and Brackett.
Hoping that the coach for the AFC probowl roster is either Bill Belichick or Norv Turner.

They do
They just think the marketing of having the Pro Bowl before the Superbowl and before everyone switches off to the NFL will outweigh the loss of players from the conference champions.
Nobody gives a shit about the Pro Bowl, attendance and viewing wise, so they had to shake it up. I’m not convinced this is the right way, but the sentiment is correct.

Happily the change in the date and place
is only for this year.
It’s really stupid to have it the week before the SB – great job, Goodell.

REALLY STUPID.
Goodell has said that the reason for the change was to boost ratings. How is that going to happen if the best players won’t be able to go?

We have to vote as much as possible
We need to get Dallas to the Pro Bowl. He’s gone un-recognized for far to long! I’m still peeved about Owen Daniels.

I believe this is Dallas' year to make it.
I’m voting about a gazillion times a day.

what I *Love* about the new pro bowl format
Okay, so say the Colts and Vikes (or Saints) make the SB. That means that Manning and Favre (or Brees), winners of 6 or 7 MVPS to that point and guys who produced titanic seasons and led their teams to a combined 30 wins in 09, will not be there. Plus no Reggie, Dallas, Dwight, AP, Williams brothers, Antoine Winfield, etc. yeah, exciting, rah rah rah. Big stars in seclusion.
I suppose it forces “churn” to the PB roster and the usual suspects, if they get enough playoff success, move aside to let some fresh faces get exposure, so in that sense it is a plus. But in potentially keeping the game’s biggest stars OUT of the PB, well, that’s got to be a bummer for people who actually paid attention to the game.
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

Yeah
But they’ll still have players like Brady, Palmer, Rivers, Orton (!) and Roethlisberger available in the AFC, and Favre, Flacco, Ryan, McNabb, Baby Manning etc. available in the NFC…
It’s not like the Pro Bowl will be short of talent.

Just a word of voting caution
you cannot go back—80% through voting I wanted to check my last position vote, hit the back button and ended up here—the 5-8 minutes I “invested” in this BS were erased. you stole from me and I want that time back, NFL!

Stupid NFL.
Why did they list Raheem Brock in the DT category? He barely ever plays there anymore. He’s basically now a DE for running downs. They should have put Eric Foster in that spot. Now HE is deserving of a Pro Bowl, at least in my opinion.
Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

Oh no!

Foster's going to struggle to make the Pro Bowl
Whilst he’s playing on a team that’s average stopping the run. He’d have to be getting really good sack numbers to overcome that, I suspect, and he’s not.
Whether or not it’s fair or not, Pro Bowl nods go to tackles who get bullrush sacks and TFLs, and tackles playing on teams who stone the run, and Foster’s just not been that guy for us.

They only send one. Then again, last year they sent some Ravens stiff.

I couldn’t bring myself to vote for Diem or Pollack, though. And I had to vote for Sproles for returner…that fast little bastahd.

I just can't rate Schaub *that* highly
He’s a product of his system and his receivers, not his ability. Almost anyone could look good with a receiver as good as Andre Johnson busting off a huge play or two every week. Schaub is a competant QB, don’t get me wrong, but I’d take Roethlisberger or spit Brady over him. Probably even Carson Palmer, although that’s as much an emotional vote because I like the guy as much as anything.

product of the motherfucking system my ass. i hate it when people say that. Because, honestly, “Almost anyone could look good with a receiver as good as Reggie Wayne busting off a huge play or two every week.” Not to mention he has clark, garcon, collie, etc.

that’s not what you mean. by saying ‘your language is terrible" you are stating that the language that belongs to me is bad. you mean to say something like "you have a very fowl mouth’ or maybe ‘go wash your mouth out with soap’ maybe even ‘do you kiss your mother with that mouth?’.

Come on
Reggie Wayne doesn’t have anything like the physical and playmaking tools that Andre Johnson does.
Calvin Johnson’s the same. Being an elite receiver doesn’t make you a big, fast, physical, playmaking receiver. Reggie is an elite receiver but he’s not the same type of player as either Johnson.
Some guys need a good QB to get them the ball in the right place. Some guys just need the ball.
You look at that over the shoulder, downfield, perfect placement pass that Peyton slotted between two defenders to Clark last week. Matt Schaub can’t make that throw.
by eltharion_doa on Oct 29, 2009 7:17 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
well duh
if ure gonna compare manning to him, he’s gonna look bad. but Reggie is a better receiver than andre, and he’s proved it time and time again. I’m not saying Schaub’s amazing, but i’m not sold on big ben, and orton can’t possibly keep this up. who else is going to the pro bowl?
by Colts_and_Cavs_in_09! on Oct 29, 2009 4:27 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Well, Brady...
I think Big Ben will make it too. Carson Palmer if the Bengals keep being surprising as well. Plus of course Rivers gets lots of hype and will have crazy stats because the Chargers can’t run and can’t defend.
And OK, I don’t think Schaub is all that but come on, I never said anything about Orton.
Manning – Brady – Roethlisberger
With Palmer and Schaub fighting to be named the replacement whilst Manning rests for the Superbowl.

i just don’t think brady is playing at a high level. other than one quarter of godliness, he hasn’t been that great. one quarter won’t get you into the pro bowl. and big ben won’t hold up all season. not at his ridiculous pace.
