Which One Is Most Realistic?
After seeing the games yesterday, I started to think about possible super bowl matchups. Which got me wondering which of these matchups would be the most realistic for XLIV.
The two matchups that I thought could be big were: the Colts versus the Saints or the Colts versus the Broncos
What do you guys think of these two picks? Could either of these two matchups be realistic?
Honestly I firmly believe that The Colts and Saints would provide for an enterntaining Super Bowl ;)

Colts and Broncos
may be diffucut since they play in the same conference.
Anyway, I feel that the Colts and Saints are playing the best in their respective conferences right now.

Colts-Saints would be good...
…but I’m thinking a Manning Bowl is nowhere near a remote possibility this year!

I hate to toot my own horn(not really)
But the Saints were my NFC Super Bowl pick before the season even started.

Long season left...
btw, congrats on the win last night. It brought me great pleasure to watch the Chargers lose. Except, what’s with the not playing part the Steelers do in the 2nd half? ;-)

Right now, I just want us to beat Tennessee.
The super bowl is a long way off. Tennessee always plays us tight. Every win is crucial as we fight for homefield advantage in a conference with some very good teams.
We need to stop CJ and LW on Sunday night. And win the turnover battle. The Titans are desperate for a win, and they always play us tough.

exactly
I’m not even thinking about the Super Bowl right now; it’s too darn early. You see what happened to NYers who thought it was gonna be a NY-NY Super Bowl. The fans and the media were wondering how the games would be played in both teams had home field advantage. I’m trying to take it one game at a time.

Ugh. The NY super bowl thought.
I prefer a Manning bowl, but as we’ve both stated, there’s a long road ahead. I want this divisional win right now.

Way too early to be discussing this
since we still have 3/4 of the regular season left and the entire playoffs. But we can’t play the Broncos in the Super Bowl since we both are in the AFC. The Saints, on the other hand, are legit; but the have to get past the Giants, the teams in the NFC North, and the Falcons in order to reach the Super Bowl.

Well as stated above
It would be VERY difficult for the Colts and Bronco’s to play becasue both are in the AFC. Call me crazy, but I like the Giants over the Saints. They have played well thus far and little Eli is lookin good coupled with steve smith to throw the ball to. Not to mention Bradshaw is tearin it up on the ground

I would hate a Manning Bowl.
I don’t think my heart could stand it. I’d prefer a Saints-Colts SuperBowl.

SB predictions
as stated earlier, it couldn’t be colts v broncos because of the same conference, oh lord how I wish it could be because we’ve OWNED them the past 5 years. IMHO I think it might be Colts v Packers…..

Really?
Packers look pretty average from where I’m sitting.
As far as I’m concerned we only have one game to play – against Tennessee. Not looking past that. Superbowl doesn’t exist yet. NFC doesn’t exist yet.

Packers would be great
if they had any kind of offensive line. May I never again complain about ours. Rodgers is great, but that team is a walking injury ward the past two seasons. The line is puke.

yep, really
IMO, I think Green Bay has solid corners, pro bowl safety, a great running game, and one of the most underrated QB’s in the NFL, everyone talks about Favre this, but Rodgers has been very solid for them since he’s gotten to play. Then again, “any given sunday” or in this case…..“any given monday” lol

I really like the
Vikings to come out of the NFC.

I would love the storylines coming out of a
Colts-Saints Super Bowl. Peyton facing his father’s team that he grew up watching. That would be fun.

Well, let’s take a look at all the 4-0 and 3-1 teams in the NFL:
AFC
*Ind. Colts – 4-0
*Bal. Ravens – 3-1
*NY Jets – 3-1
*Den. Broncos – 4-0
NE Patriots – 3-1
Cin. Bengals – 3-1
NFC
*NO Saints – 4-0
*NY Giants – 4-0
*Min. Vikings – 4-0
*San F. 49ers – 3-1
Chi. Bears – 3-1
Atl. Falcons/Phi. Eagles – 2-1 (one goes to 3-1, one goes to 2-2)
So, as of right now, your Wild Card round matchups would be:
Bengals@Jets, Pats@Broncos, Falcons/Eagles@Vikings, Bears@49ers
I’d go with the Jets, Pats, Vikings, and 49ers to win those contests.
Your Divisional round matchups would be:
Pats@Colts, Jets@Ravens, 49ers@Saints, Vikings@Giants
I’d go for Colts, Jets, Saints, and Giants out of that mix.
Your Championship round would be:
Jets@Colts, Giants@Saints
So, you’re looking at either a Jets-Giants, Jets-Saints, Colts-Giants, or Colts-Saints Super Bowl. Three of those have pretty compelling storylines. Subway Super Bowl, The Manning Bowl, or Peyton Vs. Archie’s Old Team. Jets-Saints is a dud.

Your post is incorrect
The Broncos would currently be the #1 seed in the AFC if the playoffs started today, thus they would not face the Pats in the Wild Card round.
1.) Broncos
2.) Colts
3.) Jets
4.) Ravens
5.) Patriots
6.) Bengals
Even if they aren’t seeded #1, they would definitely be #2 and still allowed a Bye
That puts the Bengals @ Ravens and the Patriots @ Jets for the Wild Card….
Patriots @ #1 seed and Ravens @ #2 seed
You’ve also done the exact same thing with your NFC choices…
Giants & Vikings would be the #1 and #2 seeds…..and would get the bye…
The first tiebreaker beyond W-L record is head to head, followed by conference record….which the Vikes/Giants both have 3-0 while the Saints are 2-0…
