Do we need a Booger this year?
All of you know that back in 2006 we acquired Booger Mcfarland from Tampa Bay. I started to wonder this morning if any of these teams that are having a terrible start to the year, will have a "firesale" as BBS put it back then, to acquire draft picks for next season.
My question is, do the 2009 Colts need a Booger type transaction to help push this team over the top? Mcfarland's contribution to the super bowl team really counted when it mattered most. A lot of us wouldnt disagree with that.
I guess it would depend on where this team needs improvement, and the available players. I personally think the team would be fine without a pickup, but wouldnt be upset if Polian pulled off something unexpected and awesome.
A special teams player possibly?
A RG worth picking up that would be an improvement?
Opinions, ideas?

I love the title to this post.
Snickered quite a few times at that :-)
Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.
Man, I need a life...
Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: This is what happens when college students get bored.
=)
I was actually at the Redskins game which was his first here as a Colt. Everyone instantly just loved him because he was Booger.
A guy about 10 seats away had a big picture of the revenge of the nerds Booger……
Maybe i should change my nickname at work to Booger? hmmmmmmmm
The position we need help in
will never be traded, no matter how bad the team doing the fire sale is. Teams hold on to [good] left tackles for dear life. Trying hard to think of another position that is a glaring need on this team. I guess if you think the DeVan/Pollack experience is a bust, then maybe guard. Or a RT. Either way, its hard to come by offensive line help in trades. There is one team that has a glut of linemen, but they’d never trade them to the Colts – the Jaguars.
hell if the team decided that
RT could be a position to be scrutinized, they could bring in John Runyan for a workout. I know he’s been injured, but the guy started for years and years without missing a game, and he’s been a pro-bowler.
There could be much worse ideas, like bringing in a running back with crappy returning ability that was cut for not getting things done………..oh wait………=)
I'd really like to see Colts get someone who can return
I hear Bears, Vikings, and Raiders have more than one guy who can return well (don’t know for sure though)
Oh no!
If Indy had that return guy, like Hester
we would be a complete team……
That's my dream. A grade-A return man.
If we could get better field position more often, can you imagine what our offense could do?

Peyton could just do some more "on purpose" delay of game plays.
Just to make it interesting. Like he did last Sunday.
