Hey, ND fans! Terrail Lambert signed to Colts practice squad

http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2009/oct/07/colts-sign-lambert-for-their-practice-squad/

I would have put this in the Fan Shots section, except I thought this should be seen.  Is this a possible move to get a kick return guy?  Lambert played his high school ball in my backyard.  My son ran track and school boy football against him for years.  Lambert, speed wise was a man among boys and was the only guy who could beat my son in the 400 when they were kids.  Lambert put up two 4.2x  40 yd. times on his pro day.  This kid returned kicks in HS, and I think punts with ND.  Pretty good corner too.  Whatcha think?

Wow, the Colts have been busy signing and cutting and signing and .........

I could go on, but I won’t. I’ve watched a lot of Notre Dame games, and don’t remember him. I wonder who’s place he’s taking?

You would hope...

Especially if we’re eyeing this guy as a returner..

This is practice squad

He’s a corner and 5 year starter for ND. I’m thinking the Colt’s brought him in for a look possibly as a KR.

If it's for practice squad then they don't to cut anyone for him?

Lori

This was a blurb in my local newspaper. The actual transaction isn’t showing anywhere yet that I can see. The details should show up soon.

Here are his career highlights

Is it a good thing they happened in the same game within about 2 minutes of each other?

That was worth watching just to hear the ND TD song. (I'm a huge ND fan)

+1

Im not a die hard fan. but i used to LOVE THEM!

I liked them For My main man BQ, and 06’ was a great year. If i get into it, i can give a compelling arguement as to why he deserved to win the high over troy smith.

I still cant wait for this to happen:
Quinn gets released from browns. Colts pick him up, He studies manning for 5-6 years, manning retires at 38-40, after winning 2-3 more SB’s. Then Quinn takes over at liek 30(his prime) and makes the colts great for 8 more years!

I was a BQ fan as well,

I’m sorely disappointed about his NFL career. Can’t decide if it’s him or his surroundings that stink. I’d love to see him on another team. I wonder what the pats could do for him-coaching wise? I could see him as Brady’s back-up.

Maybe he and his surroundings

both stink?

At least he's easy on the eyes while he's stinking.

If a QB is going to fail, he should look good while doing so. LOL

Damn Lori,

You sure are an easy mark for a QB aren’t you? Didn’t Carrot Top take his high school team to the state playoffs?

That's the beauty part about being a female fan.

I can enjoy football on so many different levels.

The ND player I want next draft is...

Eric Olsen!!

I like him too.

I’m pretty sure he’s over 300lbs. That’s a buffett buster!

Sam Young

Great run blocker and had a great game against Washington last week. Right tackle, absolutely huge. 6-8, 330 I believe. Projects as a second rounder right now.

I don’t want Olsen. He’s a beast but the last thing this team needs is another left guard or center.

Could the Colts possibly convert him

to left guard?

Olsen is a left guard normally

Young is nothing but a right tackle. The Colts don’t need a left guard anyways.

Sorry, that's a typo.

I meant to ask if we could convert him to right guard. to replace Pollak.

Maybe

But 3 moves in 3 years would be tough.

The thing is...

…every time ND ever gets called for holding, it’s always Sam Young. Maybe he’ll develop enough to where it’s not a problem, but I remain concerned that he’ll be a flag magnet for years.

by LTTelamon on Oct 7, 2009 5:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Tarik Glenn

was also a flag magnet. If Young is available in the 2nd round, take him.

Fair point, I suppose...

…and I guess I’ll take a few holding calls if I can spare Peyton a few more hits.

by LTTelamon on Oct 7, 2009 7:05 PM EDT up reply actions

I'd rather have

Kyle Rudolph, the current TE for the Fightin Irish..

by DevilsReject on Oct 7, 2009 2:53 PM EDT reply actions

I hope

The Colts aren’t picking high enough to get him in the 2011/2012 draft. He’ll be a top 20 pick.

If I could have one, I would go with Trevor Robinson, the sophomore right guard. I think he is the second best lineman on the team besides Olsen. Robinson is a crazy dude.

Rudolph is an excellent prospect

and I think he’ll make some team very happy when they snag him. If anything, I think he’s a little underutilized at ND, given his remarkable talent.
