He was a great special teams player for us

He never saw the field as a CB, though, which says something about his ability to play the position.

Apparently

his rookie season he had 12 tackles (10 solo) in 13 games. Special teams??

As long as we have Peyton we will always have a chance to win.

I can admit he’s a pretty good tackler, which is somewhat useful on special teams. I prefer corners to be able to cover properly man to man. I wish the colts would get some real cover corners and jam at the line like other good teams do.

Kinda agree with SpazMo here.

I love an open thread as much as any of you, but this is not an open thread.

I've stopped

I think the pics keep Marked’s attention. He’s like a kid with ADD.

I'll ask my serious question again

Why do we keep signing short corners? I know they fit our scheme and all, but….

That's understandable

But just once, I like someone 6’2. Is that so much to ask for?

that a taller CB does better than a shorter one. i know the logic your getting at and it is an obvious conclusion but i wonder if it is a proven one??. not accusing you of anything but i do wonder cause the colts do nto seemt to go after them as we have noticed

I think the D scheme plays into it

Cover 2 fits short DBs better, with less man-to-man. Makes it cheaper to build a D, as well.

yea that would make sense. but if your up for it lets do a little work.

lets find some other tall CB in other schemes and see if there production is greater than that of a smaller one in our scheme cause if not i say there is no reason to get a taller one at least not go out of the way to get one. also it may hurt in our scheme i dont know

So that randy moss can torch us :-(

by tapper on Nov 10, 2009 10:13 PM EST up reply actions

Jeez

Some of you guys are ridiculous. What in the hell did you expect us to do, go out and sign Deion Sanders? Whoever we brought in, they were likely not going to start over Powers or Lacey, or even Jennings. I mean, did you really expect there to be some pro bowler type just floating along the waiver wire? Get real, people.

If you think this effects us against the Pats, then that means you think we will lose regardless. Feel free to be pessimistic and watch something else when we go win on Sunday. “Oh no! Randy Moss! I’m so scared!!!” Give me a break. Didn’t we JUST face the best WR in the NFL on Sunday, Andre Johnson? And I think, THINK, we won that game, and held him pretty well.

by npb1985 on Nov 10, 2009 10:29 PM EST up reply actions

so... Deion's available?

/joking

Moss by himself isn’t the threat. It’s Moss with the other option to Welker that makes this team more dangerous than the Texans.

How can you not love a team that does this?

Chris McAlister might be available and if he could play as well as Law did after only arriving in Denver 2 days before the game (technically friday night at midnight) then I’d take him over a rookie who will have minimal impact. Chris is also 3 years younger than Law.
