A Pre-Game Precursor?

Tonight's much anticipated match-up between the New England Patriots and the Indianapolis Colts is not the only sports contest this weekend to feature two teams from Boston and Indy battling each other out.

Last night in the NBA, the Boston Celtics visited Conseco Fieldhouse for their only visit of the regular season and lost to the Indiana Pacers 113-104. The win was the Pacers fourth in a row. Danny Granger dropped in 29 points while off-season free agent acquisition Dahntay Jones continues to show he might be a steal. Jones scored 25 and played some stifling defense.

Was last night's victory over Boston a precursor to what will happen later this evening? We shall see. A weekend sweep of Boston sports teams would indeed be sweet.

This is your morning open thread to talk about whatever floats your sports boat. Iowa losing in O.T. to Ohio State? Charlie Weis's job in South Bend on life support? NBA? NHL? Early NFL Sunday game thoughts? Chit-chat away folks.

I have to say

that there’s no way that two of Shake’s teams lose this weekend. The Colts are due to get back to their domination of games. I don’t think this one is going to be close. Colts 35, Patriots 13.

Does anyone have any info? He was listed as doubtful earlier in the week but I haven’t seen any info on the Patriots latest injury list.

Glad to see some Pacer love

Get the local kids back into the swing of things. Pacers are working hard, are fun to watch, and are winning. That’s what we like about the Colts, right?

Pacers win last year was a precursor, but like the Colts last year against the Patriots, worked hard to put everything together for the win. However, this year, they actually beat down the Celtics using the formula they’ve been using on the winning streak: defense, hustle, and big plays, like the Colts. And also like the Colts, are doing it despite key injuries. I’m hoping to see a replay of that tonight.

To the local fans who have checked out of the Pacers, it’s a good time to check back in as they have a great chance to win their next two games and take a six game winning streak into next Friday’s home game against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cincy/Pit or Det/Minny

Never had an easier choice in my life. I’d watch the Bengals game anyway, but with Lions/Vikes as the other option….

I agree with that sentiment

If Pacers, Colts, AND the Bulldogs can put together great seasons, this will be a great sports year to live in Indy. I really would love to see the Blue and Gold back in the playoffs.

Williams is questionable,

I love how basically every news outlet

has taken the Pats over the Colts with the exact same reason: Brady will “carve” up the depleted Colts’ secondary. Bob only played what 1 1/2 games this season, and Jackson was the backup for Powers right? This is the same secondary that didn’t let Fitzgerald run wild on them and contained A. Johnson for a half. Hate on, haters, hate on….

"Do I believe in aliens?" Stephon Marbury asked. "I don't know, because I've never seen one. But I believe in Jesus because I saw him in the shower the other day."
