The Play of the Week
Ok. Guys after that Pats Game.. Wow.. wow wow wow.
Everyone will be talking about that play for ages. So ill give a quick personal breakdown and you guys can say what you will.
The ball was contacted on 4th and 2 by the pats receiver PAST the first down marker. However he bobbled it and did not have control. He was pushed back behind the 1st down marker, and finally got FULL possession of the football. Due to not having possession he was not awarded forward progress.
<Why The Pats Did not Challenge>
The play was snapped with over 2 minutes to go, therefore the challenge had to come from the coach. However Belichek had used all 3 timeouts and could not challenge. The Booth could not challenge either due to there being over 2 minutes to go.

About the call to go for it=
GIVE BILL A BREAK!!!!!!!
Guys, i hate him more than most of you. I detest the guy. Cheater, bad person. But you cannot take from him, that he is a great coach. About that play, his defense was tired, without depth, and intimidated by recent Colt Success. His offense on the other hand, was firing on all cylinders. Had he gotten the 2 yards, it is called a GREAT gutsy call and he is a hero. So its not a terrible call. People need to get off of him. Had that been us, in that situation, with Manning and our defense playing the way it was, I'd go for it too!! Think about it! i still hate Bill, but give him a break!
Quick Notes:
-Defense GREAT comeback, we held them so bad in the 2nd half. Only 10 second half points. Forced a few punts and picked off brady
-The Curse lifted: After losing 6 to the Pats, We have won 4 of the last 5.
-Manning has thrown for 300+ Yards in 8 of 9 games- great season
-Freeney's 8 game sack streak was broken... =[
-The Colts tied the 03-04 Pats with the 2nd longest Regular season winning streak, at 17.
-The Colts are 3 games away from having the most wins in a decade. They currently sit at 110, the 49'ers are first with 113

It was one of those things
where I felt like it was a good call to go for it, but I hoped he wouldn’t because I was scared they would convert. I think the call was more out of a respect for Manning and what he’s capable of than it was a disrespect to the defense.
The Colts had ALL the momentum at that point. If I’m wearing the hoodie, I’m just as worried about giving Manning the ball, 2 minutes and a timeout from 70 yards as I am from 30 yards. I trust the Pats offense to pick up 2 yards more than I trust ANY defense to stop Manning on a last minute, game-winning drive. Even with the off night. At least from 30 yards you give yourself the chance that if they’re going to score, they do it too quick and Brady/Moss have a chance to respond.
It was a dumb call because it didn’t convert. If it had, everyone would be praising him as a genius for keeping the ball out of the hands of arguably the greatest quarterback ever.
+1
Agree completely on the first part. The reason i felt it was a good call was because of how i felt. I was like no no no please dont go for it. No!! punt!!
Haha yeah man all good points. +1

The 4th down call was the right one...
but the 3rd down call before it was absolutely horrible. Faulk had been tearing the Colts interior up all night on runs and you decide to throw an out route to Welker that almost results in a pick six??? Then, instead of trying to run the ball again, you throw a quick toss to Faulk who doesn’t get the yards.
This was bad game and clock management by the “Hoodie” and quite frankly, he should get slammed for this final drive. I got no problem with the 4th down call, but the rest was horrible…..
Go back and look at Belechiks history
He has gone for it on 4th for years. Has been better than 50% against the Colts during season games, and four for four in playoff games against the Colts. He was playing HIS percentages as opposed to NFL percentages. Personally, I would have punted, but Belechik even with all his shortcomings personally, has a set on him.
people say that the colts got lucky
please powers almost intercepted the pass to welker on 2nd down i believe this pumped the defense into stopping the Pats… however either way i didnt believe the Pats would come out with a win all the momentum shifted to the colts
They look at me and say Why? I stare back and say Why Not?
