Around SBN: Jeremy Lin's Game-Winner Was Incredible, Worth Remembering

Too Awake to sleep!

So I live in Fort Wayne.  That's about 2 hours from Indy once you hit the highway.  I found out on Saturday night that my Brother-in-law had an extra ticket for tonight's game.  Of course I helped him out with that!  I had made plans to stay in Indy after the game.  After that game, there's no chance of sleep so I have arrived back home again in Fort Wayne.  Voiceless and Thrilled here's my quick thoughts on the game.

4th Down:  I was as surprised as every other fan at the Luke when The Hoodie sent out the offense inside his own 30.  I will admit that seeing Kevin Freakin' Faulk in the backfield made me say some nasty words.  Having seen the way the Flying Elvii were controlling the line most of the game, I can't understand why they didn't run the ball.  Good job by the defense to make the play when it was needed.  I think it was right to go for it, but not right to throw it.  The QB sneak got 3 yards the last time they ran it.  Crazy!

Pierre Garcon: I have not read the open threads here, but I'm sure everyone was all over Pierre.  I was too.  Dropped passes, penalties and mental lapses for the first three quarters of the game.  I have to give the boy credit though.  The 2 catches on the TD drive in the 4th quarter show great work ethic and resolve on his part.  His Slugo route and catch on the TD was a thing of beauty.  I think it says a whole lot that Peyton still looked for him in key situations at the end of the game.  I give him a lot of credit for bouncing back and making the plays.  Not a lot of young guys can do that.

Dallas Clark:  What happened to Dallas between the 2nd drive of the game and the first drive of the 4th quarter?  He was finding ALL KINDS of space on that second drive and then we didn't call his number again until the 4th.  I can't imagine the coverage was THAT good after being that spotty on the way to the first TD.  For those of us at the game, it was like was like he disappeared.  That's one I will need to look at on film to know for sure what happened.

Props to the Fans:  The crowd at the Luke was HUGE tonight!  A record for attendance and, while some learned their lesson for leaving early, most stayed and cheered to the end.  We were rewarded!  While there weren't any false starts caused, the fans were LOUD and keeping the team pumped up!  In a post-game interview with Caldwell, he commented on how loud the stadium was.  He said it was key in keeping the team in the right place when things looked bad.  GOOD JOB TO ALL!

Ok...Those are my ramblings after an amazing night and long drive.  GO HORSE!!!

Crowd Noise

Was pretty evident from Seattle (I mean, on TV of course).

I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

Dallas was getting mugged all day

They were pretty creative about the definition of “five yards”.

For all the moaning about Colts getting the calls, there was PLENTY that was going uncalled.
