Thursday Night Football Open Thread

Well, this will probably be rolled into something on the front page (right you are -shake), but I'm bored now so I wanted to start the open thread now.  Please feel free to talk about basically anything, even football if that's your fancy.  Some people might ask that you limit pictures of cat's and other memory killers.  I'm not one of them.  We have one of the best open thread communities in all of SB Nation and therefore anywhere, so let's stick with what got us here.

129031541077572811_medium

It'll be up to Sticky Ricky and Pat White to run the Phins wildcat with Ronnie Brown IR'ed

Also on the docket are our game against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday, and there seems to be plenty to talk about.  Injuries, matchups, smack talk, Baltimore whining about losing a team they acted like they cared about but really didn't, Mayflower trucks, and more.

So guy's, let's get ready for some LOLCatsFootball!

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

So....

Is there anyone going to hang around…..?

They showed a Derek Mason interview on nfln and he was begging the ravens fans to be as loud as possible when mannings on the field. I don’t think that’s gonna help their chances. They won’t be able to pick up on mannings audibles. I see a big day for P against that secondary.

Except the 06 playoffs. I can’t wait for this game. Where is everyone is what I want to know.

Not yet familiar who everyone is yet, I’m new here, but ill be around. I lost ronnie brown for the year on my ffteam, picked up rwillliams. Hopefully there won’t be a huge dropoff. I rewatched the colts pats game and I really took notice to how much harder Addai is running! He seems like he’s getting back to that late 06 early 07 form.

First off, welcome

And yeah, Addai is really rounding into form to help us make a deep push into the playoffs.

Polian said that the lack of a running game is a misconception

that we run when we need it, i also believe it, and that screen pass to addai is 100x better than any running play

Welcome.

I don’t post many pictures, but I make up for it by posting a ridiculous # of comments. If there is an open thread, I’ll be there.

You and I must make a pact
We must bring off topics back
Where there is an open thread, I’ll be there

I’ll reach out my hand to you,
I’ll have faith in all you do
Just call an open thread and I’ll be there

And oh – I’ll be there to post LOLcats,
Build my world of jokes around that
I’m so glad that I found tinypic,
I’ll be there with a joke that’s strong
I’ll be commenting, I’ll keep going on
Yes I will, yes I will

Seemed like Brown was cut short on playing time this week. Simpson got a bunch of his carries(and played well). Think they are just keeping him fresh? Or is that shoulder still an issue?

He looked bad when running,

so I’m guessing that it’s the shoulder thing.

If you watch closely youll see how the running game is secondary to the colts

how our team is built, we dont need a great running game that badly, no-huddle, fast striking offense, score fast, get the lead , turn our opponent into a passing team and unleash our pass rush.

we need enough of it to open our play action plays and the rest just when we need it , had you noticed how we dont have problems running into the endzone? or getting 3 yards fro a first down? we run when we need it. we are built to pass and stop the pass and its working 9-0 baby

by thebossuzzi on Nov 19, 2009 7:28 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

We also need it

to close drives out at the end of games. We have been able to do that a couple times this year, which is encouraging.

The zombies mode is awesome

I generally dislike shooter games mainly because I am awful at them. But I can’t stop playing it. It really cuts down on productivity.

I usually don’t play much else than sports games, and those have been disappointing lately.

I don't play many sports games.

It takes too long to figure out the different controls, and they always change from game to game. It became not worth it.

I love shooter games though. I rule at them, and they keep the same basic controls from game to game.

I crave story modes, especially if they have cooperative play as an option. No system will ever produce as many great games as the N64. It’s been downhill since.

No,

the people in charge of the Luke thought it would be really cool if they shot off indoor fireworks when the Colts scored. It was the first time they ever tried it, as they thought it would be an awesome effect for national TV and all. That was also the last time they tried it. There were actually 2 fires, 1 at the 50 yard line, and 1 at the opposite 10 yard line of where the players were.

there are 10 BCS spots

Florida, Alabama, Texas, OSU, Cincy, Georgia Tech, and whoever comes out of the Pac10 clusterfuck are locks. TCU is too if they win out

That leaves 2 spots. If TCU wins out Boise isn’t guaranteed a spot even if they do. LSU is locked out since 3 teams from the same conf can’t go. Pit and Ok State are ahead of Iowa in the BCS standings right now. So if two of Boise/Pitt/OkSt lose Iowa has a really really good chance to get a BCS berth with a solid win over the LOLphers.

From the open thread of the Phinsider:
As usual, please don’t post any pictures in this thread – they only slow it down. And remember – do not request or post links to illegal internet streams of the game (instant temporary ban if you do).

Sheesh, I’m glad that’s not the rule over here. The NFL wouldn’t have a problem with this if they were smart like the NCAA Tourney people and streamed all of their games online. Then people wouldn’t have to create and try to find these streams.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.............

But can the NFL actually sue a site over not deleting comments or banning users who post links to illegal streams? If the owner of the site (BBS) says nothing about it, i.e. never promotes streams or people posting them, can the NFL really hold BBS responsible for commenters posting links to illegal streams? I honestly don’t know. Don’t we have a couple people on here who are in law school?

About the same in terms of completion percentage, Russell isn’t quite as failtastic in the INT department though,

There was another quarterback that should have been the Heisman winner that year, but ESPN won that Heisman for him.
