Bad Game?
I'm a lifelong Colts fan, and yesterday I attended the Arizona Cardinals--Carolina Panthers game in Phoenix. Kurt Warner threw five interceptions and the Cardinals were completely outplayed. Now that's a tough game for the home fans to watch.
Sure Peyton Manning was a bit off yesterday, not as accurate as usual. He still played a solid game, and the Colts won.We can't expect a win every week, and we certainly can't expect perfection every week. Just as the team showed in the Miami game, it is tough, persistent, and usually finds a way to win the close ones. Winning is what's important, not putting on a show.
Manning didn't practice Friday afternoon, very unusual. I'm not suggesting that he would have played better had he practiced. But could he be dealing with an issue that caused him to miss practice and also affected his play yesterday? Just a thought.

I'm definitely in this camp
I hope it was just an illness, and not an injury (thinking back to one of the hits in the… Seattle?… game)
How can you not love a team that does this?

Why don't we ask Peyton
whether or not he had a bad game? I think he’d be honest and say it wasn’t great. Sure he got 300+ yards and no turnovers, but how many attempts did it take for him to get that? And how many times did overthrow/underthrow his receivers? He didn’t look right at all – so by the standard that he has set for himself, I say bad game.
Don’t get me wrong – I’m the biggest Manning fanboy (manboy?) there is, but I can’t look back at that game and pretend Manning played well.

I believe that Peyton
was sick. He didnt look good. He looked kinda sluggish. The flu had been going around the Colts facility and my guess is he caught it. So hopefully he got some rest yesterday and will come out and practice all week this week. We are gonna need him to come through against Houston.
Bob Sanders does not play Hide-and-Seek, He plays HIDE and PRAY-HE-DOES-NOT FIND-YOU!

That's my guess too
He didn’t seem to be hampered by injury, he just looked off and — as you say — sluggish. I wouldn’t be surprised if he a had a bug. If this is true, the good news is he should be fine soon. As much panic as there has been about the swine flu, there has been an awful lot of illness going around that seems to be fairly mild. A bunch of people at my work have been sick, but it only lasted a few days. And half the Browns were sick last week but were fine in a couple of days (not that you could tell).

Football teams have off games
It’s just par for the course. Frustrating at the time, especially when you’re playing someone you don’t think is very good, but nothing to get too worked up about.
Having said that, I didn’t think we were very good last week and the scoreline flattered our somewhat misfiring offense. We still can’t run the ball and we’re liable to giving up big, big running plays.
I wouldn’t overreact to the 49ers game, but by the same token, we shouldn’t overlook the flaws that still exist with this team.
