Could Ugoh replace Pollak?

Since the hit/ interception allowed by Pollack against the Cardinals, I've heard a lot of complaining about Mike Pollak's performance. After seemingly giving up two more sacks in yesterday's game against the Niners, and our well-documented struggles with running to the right, maybe it's time to consider moving Tony Ugoh to right guard. I won't pretend to understand the intricacies of playing an O-line position in the NFL. But I have to believe that offensive lineman could easily transition from guard to tackle or vice-versa, using Charlie Johnson's role in SB 41 as a prime example. Given Ugoh's obvious talents, maybe the answer to overcome his "lack of passion" is a change of scenery. Frustration begets complacency, and after two years of little to no improvement, possibly even regression, Ugoh's career and contribution to this team could be greatly augmented with this shift. Ugoh's greatest strength obviously lies in run blocking and I have full confidence in his ability to pull and perform in the stretch, but, in addition, his pass blocking ability could be aided at the confined guard position, where he would be facing DT's and straight-on blitzers, rather than speed rushing ends and blitzers coming around the edge. I haven't forgotten about Kyle DeVan. But while he seems to play well when replacing Pollak, it's important to note that he has yet to win the starting job. It's possible that I have no idea what I'm talking about, but this seems like a logical plan to improve two glaring weaknesses, Pollack's pass blocking and the running game in general.

Interesting idea, much like yourself, I have no clue if it would actually work, but I’d say they should at least entertain the idea in practice.

This begs the bigger question

of why Ugoh has been out the past 2 games. I think he’s even been a healthy scratch… poor performance? lack of motivation? non-reported injury?

How can you not love a team that does this?

They tried this in the preseason.

Most people thought that he did a pretty decent job.

Myself, I’m all for the idea of
1) moving Ugoh to RG, and
2) moving Pollak back to backup C

I'd rather get rid of Pollack completely

Colts already have two good enough back ups in Richards and DeVan… I trust them a lot more than Pollack right now (Richards based on what he did last year).

Oh no!

I don't like Ugoh

but he can’t be worse than Pollak.

Maybe

I also wanna see what happens if Diem moves inside to RG and Ugoh to RT. Although… Ugoh to RG will probably yield much better results.

Oh no!

im starting to wonder

if Diem is really the problem at RT. I mean, he’s not as good as he used to be, but when you have an empty space next to you, sometimes you try to do too much and then you end up doing even less. I’ve been leading the Ugoh at RG charge for a while, unfortunately Caldwell isnt answering my calls.

Not sure

I think Pollak AND Diem are both average to below average. It needs to be addressed this offseason for sure.

7-0 feels oh so good. Bring on the Texans....

yah

Diem used to be a RG, so he wouldn’t have to be learning a new position.
This is the scenario I have been hoping for Diem at RG and Ugoh at RT.
anything really to get Pollak off the field.

What I'd really like though...

Is having a new quality LT with Johnson/Diem at RT/RG (one of them in each, doesn’t matter what the order is). CJ showed what he can do in RT back in SB.

Oh no!
