Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

Not a lot of panic. No finger pointing. We [the offense] don't point the finger at the defense if they are giving up touchdowns. They don't point the finger at us if we're turning it over. All they do is go in and try to hold them to three. That's team football. I think good teams are the ones that aren't divided. It's not the Colts offense and the Colts defense. I think we've truly won ten games as a team. I think that's what you gotta have, especially as we get down the home stretch here.

Its good to see that we can win with all three phases of the game. We have an explosive offenense(that will need to pick it up a bit going into houston), our scoring defense is unbelievable. We may have a middle of the pack rush defense, and a good to very good pass defense, but what’s counts is keeping other teams out of the endzone. Pat Mac is kicking teams off the field. This guy has a leg. And our kick coverage is finally something that is not of great concern. Sure, there are things that can improve. Our run game is becoming more effective every week. I don’t see us getting any better at kick returning this year. Peytons always gonna have to start inside the 30. Unless you want to give him the ball on your own 29(had to do it). We should be getting Hayden and Gonzo back. We might be able to get some of our banmged up guys a little rest going into the playoffs. And if all goes well, were gonna make everyone come to Indy in January. Its not just next man up, its next phase of the game up.

Exactly

That’s one of the many reasons why I feel really good about this team. They are winning games on the back of either, or in a couple cases, all three phases of the game. Let’s get healthy, get the one seed, and get set for three-win playoff run.

Ditto

There’s something to be said for being able to win i different ways. I think the last two games was a huge confidence booster for the team. We now know we can have bad days against good teams and still pull out a win in the end.

In the past few years

these were the types of games the Colts lost….because the defense couldnt step up….or because the offense was put in very bad situations and couldn’t settle for a FG.

I’m very proud of the TEAM effort I’m seeing by the Colts. Granted, we all would like to see the defense tighten up a little more, the offense click a little more, but all in all, I’ll take ugly wins over bad losses.

People will point at this game and go well the Colts should have lost, but we didn’t. The Colts had the Santi fumble on the 3 yard line deprive of us a TD score chance. We had that duck of an interception on the long bomb to Wayne……we also settled for a FG instead of a TD because bonehead Manning wanted to throw the ball 3 straight times from the 8 yard line.

And that’s not even adding in the people we should be getting back healthy the next few weeks. I think the Colts are well and good for the remainder of the year. We really have 2 tough games left, both of whom are division rivals (Texans, Titans). With our remaining schedule, we have a good shot at coming thru to the end of the year in very great shape.

"bonehead Manning"

I really hope that’s a joke.

It's really not a joke

I love the Colts and I think Peyton is bar none the best QB in football. However, I often feel like he’s the victim of his own success in how well he can run an offense.

Even throwing conventional wisdom out the window, the Colts are pass first, run as an after thought….and considering the way both Addai and Brown had run that day…..why would you NOT attempt a single rushing attempt with 1st and goal? Okay…you throw it on 1st down and 2nd down….but dear lord run the ball once in a while…

You have 1st and Goal to go…you should at the very least try a run…worst case scenario is that you get nothing, which is what we got on 2 plays.

I thought I told you we don't call Peyton a bonehead around here?

I bet you never listened in class as a child.
If you know so much more about football than Peyton, then why aren’t you coaching instead of blogging?

I wonder if Kuharsky even watched the game or was on site at Jax and just catching some highlights. I agree. You’re not dominating a team when you only move it well between the 20’s.
