Everyone Prepare Yourselves for this Week's Injury Report

Phil B. wrote a short article this morning with the scary title, "Caldwell: Colts' injury list grows."  Unfortunately, he gives no specifics.  And strangely, he writes more about the potential returns of Hayden and Gonzalez to practice.  I had to read the article twice to find this little bit:

A day after going 10-0 with a 17-15 victory at Baltimore, Colts coach Jim Caldwell said he anticipated another lengthy injury report this week

Let's hope it's nothing more than tweaked ankles and sore muscles, but I am nervous already.  NEXT MAN UP!

Dont get down

The Colts have been saved in games by the “next man up” all year.

Garcon Shined against Miami
Bullitt against New England
Powers against New England(holding Moss like he did was an effort)
Collie all year.

I can name more but those are a few. I’m not saying we should favor or like or hope for injuries, but this club has showed they can overcome adversity

if Will Carrol in FO's audibles is to be believed

Tom Santi (concussion) will be an addition. He thinks Santi was briefly unconscious after the Santichoppa play.

Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.

It's shocking how much can slip your perception

I wouldn't be surprised at all

And didn’t Santi have a concussion before?

How can you not love a team that does this?

Normal bumps and bruises

I watched Caldwell’s Monday presser on the Colts site. He basically said that there were the regular bumps and bruises and that guys were banged up. He said that it isn’t any different than what any other team faces at this point in the season. Since he didn’t refer to any particular players and no reporters asked him about new injuries, I don’t think there will be any surprises to the injury report. We’ll probably see Freeney, Bethea, and maybe Garcon sitting out a day or two. Santi will likely be trying to get his ABCs straight and remember his name for most of the week.

Hopefully, this time of year it's just the normal growing list of guys who are dinged,

but not exactly injured enough to hold them out.

Does Caldwell give Mondays off after wins in Nov and dec like Dungy used to do?

Just curious.

I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

He has the same policy as Dungy.

They always get Tuesdays off and they get Mondays off if they win. If they lose (what is this losing thing I speak of?), then they are back in practice Monday.

I remember reading this in an article last week sometime.

Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

Man, I need a life...

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: You've seen SNL's hilarious Dear Sister sketch before, right? You haven't? Well, watch it here. This right here is what the Dear Sister sketch was a parody of. Bet the writers of The OC wish they could redo that scene now.

I think it will be the same case

as Bethea and Freeney last week. Give them Wednesday and Thursday off. Caldwell is becoming notorious (Gumbel and Dierdorf even mentioned it during the Ravens game) for going out of his way to keep our players fresh. He even goes up to them individually and asks them how they are feeling and makes sure that they know that it’s OK to ask for a day off if they need it. I absolutely love this policy.

Me too.

Caldwell is absolutely winning me over. The more I know, the more I like.

Personally, that maseusse he sent over saturday night to make sure I was loose enough

to properly watch the Ravens game was appreciated. I was less tense, moved freely from the family room tothe toilet and back again. Most importantly, I was fresh for the 4th quarter. The batch of chocolate chop cookies were nice, too.

Coach Caldwell, thanks a ton. But my throat is getting a little tight from all that cheering, so maybe a case of Penfolds Grange would help soothe the soreness. Just a suggestion.

That is hilarious.

I guess he’s working a little harder to win some of us over than others. Maybe drop my name?

It will be lengthy

but this time of year, any bumps and bruises whatsoever will be added to the report. Sore shoulder? Add him. Stiff neck? Add him. Scraped knee? Add him. Someone sneezes without covering their mouth? Quarantine the entire team and bring in the delousing spray. It could get ugly.

Seriously, though, I expect Bethea, Freeney, Santi, and most of last week’s on there. The team is not taking any chances and will do whatever it takes to keep the guys healthy for the long run.

I'm thinking good thoughts,

Let’s all do that, the power of the Colts Fandom!
