Peyton Manning has 42 Game-Winning Drives in his Career. (Including Playoffs)

For those who care, that ties Brett Favre for 2nd Most All Time . He only trails John Elway who has 48.

Star-divide

He has 33 fourth quarter comebacks, which trails only Elway and Unitas. That's pretty good company. Since 2003, Manning has four 4rth Quarter Comebacks in which the Colts trailed by at least 17 points, including 3 in which the team trailed by at least 17 points in the Fourth Quarter. He has 11 fourth quarter comebacks in his last 22 starts. Compare that to Tom Brady who has 5 in his last 22 games. (For the record, Brady's biggest 4rth Quarter Deficit in which he came back to win the game was 11 down against the Bills this season.) Manning has 5 fourth quarter comebacks this year and should overtake Elway for most Game-Winning Drives in NFL History by 2010 if he keeps at his current pace.

When people make the argument about Brady being the NFL's Best QB in the Clutch, they often reference his preformance in this game.

Funny thing is, he's never had a comeback quite like this one....

He should have more Comebacks.

If McGinest hadn’t tackled Edge at the 1 yard line in 2003 and Vinatieri hadn’t missed a chip shot field goal at San Diego then he would have 6 Fourth Quarter Comebacks in which the team trailed by at least 17 points, including three in which they were down by at least 21 points.

Manning definately has more 4th quarter comebacks than brady

http://www.forbes.com/2009/11/02/nfl-clutch-quarterbacks-lifestyle-sports-football-tom-brady_slide_2.html but…. says brady has a better success rate. . to be fair..Still i’m not trying to put down manning cuz he’s def the guy would want down late in the 4th…off course 4th quarter comebacks can still be diluted. As someone mentioned before missed FG, or defensive breakdowns in the last second. Remember in the last two superbowl both warner and brady lead a 4th quarter come back, but the defense gave up the go ahead TD. Manning prolly has more comebacks than indicated liek from the 6 pick san diego game where he still somehow manage to almost win it.

He's only had to do it 33 times.

The numbers for Manning are better now. He has 33/69 (48%). He’s had to do it more than twice as much as Brady has. Shows what we’ve been saying for years. He’s always had a great team around him and therefore isn’t trailing very often.

these stats are stupid

Several articles have been written to debunk the counting they use for these. A QB gets credit on some of these measurements for leading a 2 play drive that results in a FG that gives a team a 1 point lead with 14 minutes to play if that holds up.

None of this is important at all. Trusting the QB is all that matters.

All I know that Tom Brady has 0 game winning TD drives in the playoffs

so for all the hype about his clutchness in the playoffs, Adam Vinatieri’s golden foot has ended every classic drive.

i still wonder why that golden foot never fully came to indy, only in the 06 playoffs thats when i actually saw his clutchness as a colt

for crying out loud who misses a 25 yard cheap shot to the chargers since vinny missed that field goal in the regular season the colts have had it bad against the bolts

yeah im happy that we have the quarterback to make those comebacks, but i wish he didn't have to, cuz that would mean that our team is good enough to never have to rely on a last effort in the fourth quarter
