Panthers Sign LB Senn; Feedback on Senn anybody?

Jaxon here with Cat Scratch Reader here looking for some info on a guy we signed today LB Jordan Senn. The Panthers placed their 2nd LB on IR earlier today so they needed depth. I bet its safe to assume this kid was a favorite of Ron Meeks. Why was he released the last time? At what LB positoin in a 4-3 does he play?

We are most curious about his special teams play. The Panthers are bad at coverage so I'm hoping this guy can help. Any particular things about this kid you remember? Are

Any insight is appreciated.

He was a backup WILL and special teamer

racked up a lot of tackles whenever he got PT, but they always seemed to be either in pursuit or with him getting knocked back. Last year he played (as an injury fill in) in front of Phil Wheeler who is in the starting lineup now.

He was cut because the Colts had 4 LBs with starting experience in the system, another who was expected to step into a starting role this year and the 6th LB spot went to the best STer, which was apparently Ramon Humber instead of Senn.

Luck is probability taken personally, clutch is probability attributed to individuals.

It's shocking how much can slip your perception

Senn is not starting caliber...

He is probably an above average special temer, but not much more. Playing WILL you can probably hide him in a defense if you need to, but he’s not really much of a playmaker. Clearly, not one of my favorites.

Great on special teams, good in pass protection and servicable in run support

If you’re counting on him to start for you, be careful. Seems like a solid dude to have on the team though. Good luck to him! Kinda sad he wasn’t around anymore.

Liked him

Jordan Senn was pretty good I thought. I remember watching him in preseason and he was all over the field – he was in or around almost every tackle. I was sad to see him cut. I think he will be a very good pickup for you guys if you let him get some playing time.

A classic case of Meeks picking the Colts crumbs

Why not.. he knows the Colts defense quite well and I’m sure he’s familiar with Senn

Play Connor

They are supposedly ‘grooming’ Dan Connor. The LB coach asked Beason to move over to ‘Will’ (for Davis); then put Connor at ‘Mike’. Beason wasn’t comfortable with the move, so it didn’t happen. …… (would have given JB the free reign to rack up tackles). So apparently they think Connor can start. So another LB gets hurt, someone else is brought in; DC sits on the bench – except for STs & goal line. He pIayed OLB 3 yrs at Penn St. I don’t get it. Even late in the game when the outcome is obvious, DC doesn’t get any snaps. Is this the way you groom someone, or is it $h!t coaching?

Well,

there’s a reason that absolutely all of us were thrilled when Meeks was let go.

Senn profile

Hey Guys

As mentioned, Senn is not starter material as he does not have any “splash capability”. He is very much undersized, nickel pkg Will LB at best and a good special teamer. He will pursue the ball carrier but very rarely make the point of contact tackle. Solid character but a plug in player to round out your roster.
