Edge Cut by Seattle
The Edge got The Boot from the Seahawks today. I still think this guy's got something to offer, especially considering he had some pretty solid runs during the Colts earlier this season. He's definitely got to be better than some of the backup RB's currently on the roster and might provide the kind of boost the backfield needs to become more consistent. That being said, what do you think? I say bring him back. It would, if nothing else, provide him with a truly proper closing to what should very well be a Hall of Fame career.

3rd string?
They would have to demote Addai because Brown isn’t going anywhere. I would love to have Edge back on the roster, but that would mean cutting Hart or Simpson and although Simpson is a below average returner, he is really all we have right now unless Collie or Gonzo tried it out once Gonzo comes back. Hell, maybe Garcon could give it a whirl.
7-0 feels oh so good. Bring on the Texans....

Garcon
has returned kicks before I believe. He’s a fast dude…I honestly don’t know why they haven’t tried him at returner yet.
Bob Sanders does not play Hide-and-Seek, He plays HIDE and PRAY-HE-DOES-NOT FIND-YOU!

I don't think they can afford the injury risk
How can you not love a team that does this?

That too.
Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.
Man, I need a life...
Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Viz Media (The creators of my absolute favorite show of all-time and inspiration to my avatar, Naruto) just announced a partnership with the channel Disney XD to bring the English-dubbed episodes of Naruto Shippuden (The continuation of the Naruto series) to that station with a new episode airing each week, starting, well, NOW. With the series recording I just put on it, this is one of the greatest days I've had in a long time. I'm not kidding. I love the show that much.

They have in the 2008 preseason after
T.J. Rushing got put on IR. He couldn’t hold onto the ball and stunk at running too.

I guess we could cut Hart, give Edge a shot. Let’s keep it real and face the reality that our run game is killing us!

nah I'd say cut Simpson instead of Hart
Oh no!

^yes, yes, and, if I might add... yes^
I am not expecting miracles, just about five 4-yard runs a game and a 10 yard pass reception, plus Edge passing the next 3-4 guys (a few hundred yards) in the record books.
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

Edge > Simpson
Edge’s pay > Simpson’s pay

Here’s what I’d like to see:
Addai, Brown, and James all working by committee.
Keep Hart as a possible third down back (although I’m a little wary of keeping him on the active roster at all since he’s shown himself to be injury prone).
Move Simpson to the practice squad or cut him altogether.
Simpson’s a decent back but not good enough to justify a roster spot on this team. He hasn’t shown much in the return game so I don’t see what all he really has to offer outside of some special teams play.

Hey, Bill Polian! Bring Back Egde for Indianapolis Colts Stretch Run! by Kent Sterling
he Seattle Seahawks waived Colts all-time leading rusher Edgerrin James, and the Colts are down a back-up halfback. I have no idea what Edge has left in the tank, but he has to be able to move the pile a yard, doesn’t he?
Edge knows the offense, and the town. The fans love him. Bring him back so he can retire a Colt and walk away with another ring – or at least give him a great chance at one.
The Colts have never really had a great player they could bring back for that last hurrah, and as a practicing dramatist I like the idea of Edge running that stretch play one more time and picking up a big first down to seal the deal in a playoff game or the Super Bowl.
Edge averaged 2.7 yards per carry, and Joseph Addai is at 3.3. Not a big difference unless you wind up two feet short of a first down on third and ten-feet. We know Edge can block and catch.
I’m one of the idiots who would have let Willie Mays pinch hit in the 1973 World Series with the game on the line. Mets Manager Yogi Berra knew better, but still lost. I would even have signed Ernie Banks at the age of 53 in time to stick him on the playoff roster for the 1984 Cubs. I want Brian Cashman to re-sign Bernie Williams right now so he can play in Game Six and Seven (if necessary, and it won’t be).
I want magic. I want drama. I want a Hollywood ending for a career that really helped solidify the Indianapolis Colts as one of the premier franchises in the NFL. I want Bill Polian, the best executive in sports, to abandon his core principle and allow emotion to enter into the equation for this team.

This is a dream......
But I think Edge on the roster would boost Addai’s production. He and Edge are really close. But I think we all know this is a pipe dream.
