Ouch....

I have a feeling that Gonzo is done for the year with news coming about him getting a second opinion.  This stinks!  Way too many injuries, and I am not convinced with Garcon as our #2 WR...plus, our DB's are banged up and Hagler out for the year....and all this just in time for the toughest stretch of our schedule!  Yet, I still have faith!

We need him back..

Collie will grab that ball and hold on, but Pierre has ups and downs.

Gonzo is much more dependable.

Go Colts!

What did I say? This has Marvin Harrison 2007 written all over it.

I did this a few times at that dump of a site I used to write for so I figured, hell, why not try it out over at Stampede Blue you know? At least this time someone will actually be reading it.

Yeah it does...

Except Gonzo is about 10 years younger.

Oh no!

I hate it when you're right.

Now a proud annoyance on Stampede Blue, 18to88, Indy Football Report, and Phil B's blog.

Man, I need a life...

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Viz Media (The creators of my absolute favorite show of all-time and inspiration to my avatar, Naruto) just announced a partnership with the channel Disney XD to bring the English-dubbed episodes of Naruto Shippuden (The continuation of the Naruto series) to that station with a new episode airing each week, starting, well, NOW. With the series recording I just put on it, this is one of the greatest days I've had in a long time. I'm not kidding. I love the show that much.

Ouch is right

This is the time of year that this stuff seems to pile up. We (the texans) lost our uber TE last week and our main pass catching TE back up is also out for a couple of weeks. Of course it could be worse we could be Titans fans.

You can't fix Dumb

This is true.

Thanks for cheering me up :-)

We don't know Gonzalez is out for the year,

let’s not jump to conclusions. Stinks about Hagler. Anyone heard anything about Brown?

I'm worried this kid might turn into Lawrence Maroney...

Consistent shoulder problems, etc etc etc…

God I hope he isn’t injury prone (worries me more in that he said he’s had it before number of times)

Oh no!

I know, I wish he hadn't said that.

I was watching a re-play of the Titans game. Brown was huge that night. We need him back.

Very true Indy Lori, this was just a feeling I had. I think the second opinion is to discuss whether or not he should have surgery on his knee…I would love to get Gonzo back even if it is in December, but by the time he is fully healed and gets back in gameday shape, it could be a lengthy recovery/rehab.

We need to do something about our O-line…people keep bashing on Addai, and yeah, he does run horizontally quite often, but I don’t think our O-line is well designed to run the stretch play. Lets try and get a FB (or converted FB in Eric Foster) and have him lead block up the middle. We know that our Center and our left side of the line (Lilja and C. Johnson) can block..add Foster to that mix by having him blow up a linebacker, and we could create 5 yard holes for Addai and Brown to get through…and of course, I would love nothing more than having Mr. Edgerrin James back in a blue uniform! I think the stretch play requires the linemen and wide receivers to stay on their blocks for too long, and as we have seen with Garcon, he gets called for holds quite often, and it gives the defenders time to get off their blocks before Addai even starts running vertically! Just my take on the run game!

We are the Colts

Here are our players that are critical to keep healthy:

Manning (duh)
Saturday
Wayne
Clark
Addai or Brown
Freeney
Mathis
Hayden
Brackett

If we lose one of those guys for extended time, then I will be worried. We can win a Super Bowl with the current receiving corp.

To me

This has Bob Sanders, 2006 written all over it. Gonzo comes back in an otherwise meaningless week 17 game (we already have top spot in the AFC wrapped up, obviously) and catches a TD pass from Peyton on the first series (after which Manning is pulled.) He then goes off with the Sorgmeister, and runs a hot hand of form all the way to a 140 yard, TD effort in the Superbowl, as we beat the Vikings in a shootout and Favre throws two picks and loses a fumble to Mathis.

He’s just making sure he’s right for the playoffs.

If Manning gets injured in final game

Goodbye to SB.

If we’ve got the AFC wrapped up, I’m OK with resting our starters. Not entirely, but they don’t need to play anything more than enough to knock the rust off.

by eltharion_doa on Nov 5, 2009 12:20 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

But how much is "enough"?

We know that one drive isn’t. I’d play the starters at least for the first half.

Oh no!

That's the question

That the coaches get paid a lot of money to answer.

noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can you not love a team that does this?

by LovinBlue on Nov 5, 2009 10:27 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

That's not an update.

That’s speculation based off of Phil B’s report and no new information. Be careful about that kind of stuff. That’s how internet rumors get started and spread really quickly.

Agreed Casspieper

That’s why I called it “Somewhat of an update”….I know that the credibility of these sources are sometimes wacky, but it was just something for some light reading! I nor should the people take what it says to the bank by any means, but thanks for the clarification.
