Peyton Manning awarded SB Nation's Mid-Season "Mega Stud" Award
SB Nation polled us football writers about who had looked the best (and worst) for the first half of the 2009 NFL season. No surprise, Peyton Manning looks like the NFL MVP. The article is posted on SBNation.com, and it is written by some schmuck who runs a Colts blog.

Jared Allen
I suspect he gets a lot of name recognition because of his two utterly spectacular games on national TV against the most sacked good QB in the league. That’s serendipity, not necessarily greatness. But if you look at his production, about 80% of it came in those two games. Plus he has a wall of humanity sucking up double teams and clogging the middle next to him.
In short, great player, getting great media exposure, with great supporting crew. (Part of that is the opponents needing to pass a lot to top the Vikes 30+ PPG) I do enjoy watching him play.
I’m biased, but I’d vote for Sharper or Freeney’s greater consistency (a sack in every game plus numerous pressures and FFs without the Wall of Williams next door).
I hate Joe Namath. That's how long I've been a Colts fan.

Allen gets double teamed every play
I’ve even seen him triple teamed. He’s a force.
