Around SBN: How A Letter From Tom Coughlin Helped One Fan's Recovery

Gonzalez, Hayden, Jackson, Sanders and Vinatieri all missed a second day of practice this week. They were joined by Jaime Silva (Hip). Getting the day off were Robert Mathis and Reggie Wayne.

Hey if Silva can't return this week...

I don’t know WHAT I’m going to do! I mean, I think I will completely and totally freak out!!!

or not.

Hey!

That was some pretty good sarcasm there for an amateur. It probably would have been more effective though if you left the “or not” off ;-)

Man, I need a life...

Random fact of the week from the empty void that is my mind: Viz Media (The creators of my absolute favorite show of all-time and inspiration to my avatar, Naruto) just announced a partnership with the channel Disney XD to bring the English-dubbed episodes of Naruto Shippuden (The continuation of the Naruto series) to that station with a new episode airing each week, starting, well, NOW. With the series recording I just put on it, this is one of the greatest days I've had in a long time. I'm not kidding. I love the show that much.

if Silva can't go they definetly won't healthy scratch Rushing again

though after Sunday I’ll bet they won’t do it again anyway

Good lord I certainly hope not

that was an experiment in fail if I ever saw one.

At least he didn't drop the ball

As long as we have it in our possession, there’s always a chance with #18 at the helm. I was oddly ok with Silva returning kicks… I mean really, with our blocking, it’s not like he was that much less effective was it?

How can you not love a team that does this?

I'll still take Rushing.

well actually he did drop the ball once

but he was able to recover himself

Silva made me nervous on Sunday.

I kept thinking he was going to fumble the ball. I wonder is Simpson is gonna return?

Can Simpson be a healthy scratch sometime?

I would even rather see Foster returning kicks. He would get the same amount of return yardage and it would be a lot more fun to watch.

7-0 feels oh so good. Bring on the Texans....

I'm not sure that I want to see

fun things on kickoff returns. With our offense, I’d rather be bored.

I'm really interested in the Friday injury report.

That’s the one that will give us a good picture of who’s playing Sunday. You better be well enough to do a full post on that one Shake!

shane andrus...

this team needs more kickers.

Actually, they’ll have to sign a CB, since Hayden is most likely out this week. Too bad Rats is on a roster, i thought he was good last year. Someone call Jason Da… DAMNIT.

im not sure i have been wondering who is out there on a PS that we can pick up potentially

also might want to look at wide reciever if gonzo is going to be out i would like to see them put him on the ir and pick some verteran up at widereciever that or if they feel they dont need it there they can use it for the line im sure they can get someone that is good enough to play better than pollack or at least make him realize he needs to pick his game up

GO COLTS!!! 09 IS OURS!!!

by TheAngelsColts on Nov 5, 2009 7:38 PM EST up reply actions

If Pollack

hasnt picked up his game by now…I dont think he ever will. He has sucked all season and its time to take him out. Start DeVan and make Ugoh his backup and start rotating those two. Ugoh can run block pretty well. At this point Ugoh would be an upgrade from Pollack

People may or may not agree with me but

I am REALLY interested in seeing Edge come back. I think the guy has some juice left in the tank and he knows the Colt offense better than anybody. He obviously doesnt have a problem not being the #1 RB. Not only do I think hw still has some left, but I think a vet presence in this young RB corps would help out a lot. Sure Joe is a vet now, but he’s still very young and I think Edge could help him and Brown both get better. Especially Brown, because Brown reminds me a lot of Edge. But that’s one person I would LOVE to see the Colts go after.

ok i totally agree on what u say about edge.

but im not sure i see it as a probable move. but i dont know that id rather have him over someone who on the field would probably be more productive for us. is it possible that edge comes back and does produce mabye but probably not much cause i dont see him getting a lot of reps with brown and addai and dont know if the team not edge is willing to pay him not to play but it is an interesting proposition. i guess i just hope they do something with it to help the team

As I stated in another post...

The Vet Minimum is 1 million….the Colts have over 3 million bucks of cap to play with. I think if Indy offers him a job, he would take the vet minimum to come and play for a team that has a great shot at making a super bowl run.

I can tell you

that I would love Edge to come back for sentimental reasons. You all saw the reaction Lucas Oil Stadium gave him. I wonder if he can still produce for us though. It’s something to consider because Polian favors building his team over sentiments. Sentiments only enter the equation when they don’t affect the team.

I think

edge still has something left. I mean was he producing a lot in seattle? No, because he had to go in and learn a whole new system and with the Colts he already know the system. He knows the in’s and out’s of the Colts offense. Plus like I said he would be a great veteran presence for these young backs. I don’t in any way see how this could hurt this team. Sure I’d like him back for the same sentimental reasons as you, but I think he can offer a little bit more. And then he can retire a Colt if he so chooses to retire.

EDGERRIN JAMES DUH

I did this a few times at that dump of a site I used to write for so I figured, hell, why not try it out over at Stampede Blue you know? At least this time someone will actually be reading it.

Confused...

So did M. Jackson NOT practice yesterday, or did he indeed practice and tear his ACL as Shefter reports?

by rufhausen on Nov 5, 2009 6:19 PM EST via mobile reply actions

eh if Marlin tore same ACL again...

His career might be seriously threatened at that point.

Oh no!

How bad is Hayden's knee injury?

I hate seeing knee injuries as the reason someone is hurt. Those rarely turn out to be anything but negative. Do we have any idea on the severity of Hayden’s knee injury? Sprained, strained, torn? I haven’t seen a thing. He isn’t on IR yet so that is the only positive I see.

by Matic on Nov 5, 2009 6:27 PM EST reply actions

This has been a bad week :(

Praying that gonzo and Hayden will be back this year. Even if they are out for five or six weeks.

Sanders injury doesn’t even bother me anymore… It annoys me but it doesn’t bother me.

acutally saunders does worry me a little i want to here what they say cause if it is a strain he

may not be playing this week but it wouldn’t be a long turm issue probably just a single game but if he practices thursday or friday im sure he will play and be fine

today's Thursday

and he didnt practice…Id say if he gets limited practice tommorrow, then he will play Sunday. This is a big game for the Colts and they are gonna want to have as many play makers on both sides of the ball as possible.
