college football open thread

well everyone another week of college football is before us. im sure there are some big story lines for us to see this week but i really dont know many. i do know that now after Oregon beat my (Trojans) they got to keep winning if they want to go to BCS which is highly unlikly or at least they will go to the rose bowl. then we also have  Iowa trying to go to 10-0. will they finally be able to have control of a game before the second half. wait and see.....

Star-divide

lets us use this thread to talk about the college games and anything else if there are no other good games ( NO INJURY TALK ALLOWED) we dont need it we want not to think about it and if you do and we have a unexpected announcement it will be on you as far as you jinxing us :)  have a great day everyone!!!

Re: Oregon

I have mixed feelings here. If they win out, they will win the Pac-10 and at least be a lock for the Rose Bowl (the actual Rose Bowl, not the National Championship, which will be played AT the Rose Bowl). But if they suffer a collapse, U$c loses one more, and Cal wins out… voila! Cal in the Rose Bowl for the first time in… well let’s just say the first time in a really really long time.

BUT, I’ll be rooting for Oregon to run the table so that Cal has less competition for our 87th appearance in the Holiday Bowl. Here is your Pac-10 rooting guide:

- Cal over Oregon State (duh!)
- Oregon over Stanford (any time there is a legitimate reason to root against Stanford, you gotta take that choice)
- Washington St. over Arizona (probably won’t happen, but it’s sad that WSU is winless, not to mention that an Arizona loss moves Cal ahead of them in the standings)
- UCLA over Washington (again, let’s get a win for UCLA and keep UW down in the standings!)
- Arizona St. over USC (as with Stanford, any time there is a legitimate reason to root against USC, you gotta do that – sorry ANGELSFAITH!)

How can you not love a team that does this?

I have a weird feeling that Stanford will upset Oregon

The Ducks always collapse when they appear to be at their high water mark.

I need to find another stupid artifice to put here

Could be

but to quote a stupid cliche, they really are clicking on all cylinders right now. Masioli is money, and they look good on D, too. I think they will overpower Stanford (who also just lost a LB this week).
