LATE NIGHT THREAD

for me and a few others it isn't that late at all and seeing as that is the case i still got plenty in me. so if anyone is up and just wants to chat about the game tomorrow the games that were played today and how bad they were or anything else go ahead.

also i will ask if anyone has the Maddon 10 i thought it would be fun to just do a simulated game for each of our games as we come to them as a weekly thing such as some other blogs do. obviously i couldn't do it as i dont have the recent game. if you want to get a general idea of what i am thinking of go look at the 49ers blog about it. we wont have to go and do as much and i can let you know what im thinking but your free to do as much work as you want on it. this will be done as only a fanpost unless (like the college thread i guess) BBS likes it and wants it to be more.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Stampede Blue's writers or editors.

Hi

Back from the game slaughter. Today was an awful day, but the worst was watching Jahvid Best being carted off the field. A loss I can take. A loss of a player due to an injury that for a while I assumed could be paralysis I can’t. Thank goodness it sounds like it was “only” a concussion, but I have a feeling we won’t see Jahvid Best for the rest of the year.

Sigh – I hope the Colts can salvage my football weekend.

How can you not love a team that does this?

It seems to have been a bad day

for a lot of people. I, on the other hand, have just watched some 7 episodes of my favorite show of all-time online and am feeling great ;-)

But yeah, the Colts winning big tomorrow should make everyone happy again.

There's some.

I thought that Addai TD last week was very comedic. The whole stadium laughed for about 5 minutes.

hey, guys

Its 1pm in the afternoon where I am. Just thought I’d say hi. I’m not a regular “contributor,” but read this blog, oh, every couple hours or so. I’ve got the Game Pass from NFL.com – and I plan to watch HOU-IND (of course) and NYG-SD tomorrow. What’s wrong with New York lately?

I confess I am a little surprised that Eli (in spite of his last name) seems to be a real solid quarterback. He seemed streaky at Ole Miss; guess he just needed to mature. Its way to early to say he’s a hall of fame guy, but easily a top ten (maybe top 5) in the league.

Finally l’d like to say, our injuries hurt, but we should handle it. The D-line is way more important to our success than the backfield. And our safeties have been handling it all year without Bob. No worries. I’m looking forward to seeing more Moala and Wheeler, so should be fun. Excuse, while I go get some Taiwanese coffee….

thanks

this is the calm before the storm;; nothing really to talk about … not much else can happen before the games tomorrow (at least, god, I hope not)! there’s a lot of good games this weekend (BAL-CIN, PIT-DEN). Can’t wait.

P.S. Go Dolphins!!!!!!!

you are right....

I usually wake up at 5am, watch the game before work on Monday. (My apartment doesn’t have fast enough internet to watch the games in high definition.) We are now 13 hours ahead of Eastern Std. Time. I’ll watch the second game after work.

by taipei_coltsfan on Nov 8, 2009 1:09 AM EST up reply actions

so you watch the second set after work. i see

so i guess you wouldn’t want to be on here after now untill you watch the game on monday wise you would know the score before seeing it. but wait how is it 13 isn’t it 2pm there right now?

GO COLTS!!! 09 IS OURS!!!

by TheAngelsColts on Nov 8, 2009 1:12 AM EST reply actions

right on both counts

I get a lot of work done on Mondays because I don’t surf all the football sites in the morning! It really sucks when there are two games at the same time – I just choose one because they show the score of the other game, of course. Fortunately, SD-NYG comes on at 4, then Monday night’s game, so I’m lucky this week. I miss the days of going to the sports bar and watching 5 games at once…. except, that was when I lived in Boston, which presented a whole other set of problems.

by taipei_coltsfan on Nov 8, 2009 1:20 AM EST reply actions

so you lived in boston what made you move to taiwan? work?

so you end up recording the 1 oclock games then i imagince since you watch the 4 oclock before work am i getting this right. sorry im just trying to understand and as i think i do then i think im getting something wrong lol. he what would you guess im learning things at such a late our lol

GO COLTS!!! 09 IS OURS!!!

by TheAngelsColts on Nov 8, 2009 1:27 AM EST up reply actions

its simple....

Local time (Taipei), the game would start at 1am, early Monday morning and end around 4, 4:30. I wake up at 5am, watch the game before work. Then any later games, I can watch Monday after work or Tuesday. The NFL Game Pass keeps the games on archive, and you purchase the entire regular season (you may not know, but this is available only outside North America). I can watch any game that’s already aired anytime.

Moving to Taipei was a little crazy. I work in a specific research field (general area of Biochemistry, and I work at an institute called Academia Sinica), and came here for a two year project. I plan to go back next year, provided I can find a job. Previously, I was working as a postdoctoral researcher at Tufts University in Boston.

ok yea i didn't know that and i have never done game pass so i never knew how it worked

How is the Luc

I’ve only been to one Colts game, and that was at the RCA dome.

Personally, on TV, I wish they stayed in the Hoosier Dome. it seemed much louder and more crazy. The luc looks grand and everything, but it doesn’t feel right after all those years in the cramped dome.

That's one Colts home game

I’ve been to quite a few Colts road games. The only memorable ones were the Manning Bowl and the Ravens divisional game.

It's an amazing building.

The RCA Dome had all of the comforts of a wooden shoe. The Luke is much more fan-friendly. As far as loudness and craziness, it’s plenty loud. Not crazy, but I’m not sure it ever was.

It might be just like a lack of echo

but the RCA dome seemed louder on TV. The luc looks beautiful though. I really want to make a trip there sometime soon.

Thats good

I used to love the loudness of the dome, and I used to feel like we lost that advantage. Having a loud building makes football so much better. I’ve been to a Hawk’s game in qwest (my older sister has season tickets – her husband is a huge hawks fan) and that place was so crazy loud. The only place I would put above the dome. Of course, it helps when your filthy rich owner designs it just to make it loud like Paul Allen did.

So?

What’s up?
I, personally am a little worried about tomorrow.
The Texans are tough. But we usually own them.

by peytonsurdaddy on Nov 8, 2009 4:07 AM EST reply actions

I'm not too worried

We own them in Indy, Last year was the exception (although even that game – 33-27 I believe – was not as close as the score indicated).

We match up well with them. We can stop the pass. Our pass rush is more important the the secondary, so since they are healthy, I’m guessing our pass D will be at least 75% as close to normal. They’re defense might have had good weeks recently, but I still don’t trust them. Peyton is not Alex Smith or Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Yeah

I guess, but it’s alot of pressure for them. In Peyton I trust, but still. It’s gonna be hard. I’m fine with 18-1 (as in we win the super bowl…. not like the Pats 18-1). That will tie us with the 85 Bears and 84 niners (most underrated team of all time) in the 16 game era.

Yeah

but I also remember Dr. Z thinking that the 76 Steelers were the best team of all time. That was the team that lost to the Raiders in the playoffs.

I’m fine with calling the 86 Bears the 44th best team of all time (or 45th, behind the 07 Pats).
